Smith was flying a month ago he looked really fit at training.I wondered why he had not been training.

OK. Not too bad I suppose.
Hopefully that means we can be confident that Croad, Dixon, Jacobs, Ellis and the other barely sighted Hawks players will be available for Round 1. I'm happy with that.

Can't agree Satchmo, our biggest worry is Croad.
He hasn't played a game yet this year, and is not in the squad for the Freo match either.
BUT, our ruck division is Taylor, Renouf AND McEntee. Both B1 and B2. Both Ellis and Morton. 5 players able to say hello to their families, Buddy, Morton, Moss, Changa and Willo. And the naming of DJ in the squad !!!!

I agree, Croad is missing in action.
I am pretty worried about his wrist.

Says alot about the way they are coached with the fact they made the NAB Grand Final still.

Good stuff, Leigh.

Anyone got an update on Brett Collins, what work hes been able to do, how far away he is from getting on the park with Box Hill

Think he is coming along ok. Read a post that said he was kicking again, but has not yet joined general training. Must be still in the gym doing rehab. Seems to have put on a few kgs in the upper body since his arrival. I would expect him to join the main group in the next week or two. As for playing that is a few weeks away one would think.

i think thorp and suckling are looking closer to joining the main group then collins...

Guys does anyone know anything about dawson.
Was at training today and pretty sure he has an ankle problem, but i havent heard anything about it. He didnt really train with the group. He ran one lap then one lap with bateman (who was told by a trainer to go slow for dawson) but bateman still beat him by 20m+, dawson came round and i heard him saying that he was absolutely 'stuffed', he then starting limping and just walked around the oval a few more times with bailey??

Also no dowler at training today, and give the kid a break, have a little faith he will come good!

Before Round 4 2007 vs Geelong.

GEELONG:

Nathan Ablett (hamstring) - to be assessed
Tom Harley (finger) - 4 weeks
Tom Lonergan (kidney) - indefinite

# wow, we would be lucky if young Mr. Ablett was unavailable :) along with one of their best defenders in Capt Harley.

HAWTHORN:

Chance Bateman (thigh) - test
Joel Smith (knee) - 2 weeks
Richie Vandenberg (hamstring) - 2 weeks
Trent Croad (foot) - 2-3 weeks
Mitch Thorp (hip) - 3-4 weeks
Tim Clarke (Achilles) - 12 weeks

?????? list - why not listed
Rick Ladson (ankle?)
Brett Collins (foot)
Max Bailey (Season)
Kentucky (??)
Matt Suckling (OP?)

Surely Ladson is fine. He ran out the game pretty well. (Fingers crossed)

* For those of you with dream teams, this is where it gets funny. Have Nathan Ablett in mine and i want him to play well and stat well... but not too well. Last week I had Hale, Corey Jones and Petrie for the Kangas, so I wanted some Kanga action, but only from those players. My quartet of Ladson, MacGlynn, Brown and Taylor did just fine for me. :D

At the end of the game he came off the bench and limped towards the players in the middle...... no running there mate.

I will stick my head out and say he will be having surgery sometime this season to correct whatever the problem is with his leg/ankle/foot just a question of when, not if.

God I hope Rick is okay! Got the number Four on the jumper last year and just before the Melbourne game had to explain why I would think of putting that number on my jumper.....now that people are understanding why I dont want him to get injured!!
