TLDR

Looking at that list you'd hope the longest injury is 6 weeks, which doesn't sound too bad. The exception is Lynch of course, which really sucks because he's the most important one. Happens though, hopefully we win some games before then.
At least Lynch out gives some of the kids a chance at the top level, I'm trying to stay optimistic.

Early prognosis

The Tigers are yet to update their injury list, given they played on Monday night. Rioli jnr suffered a hamstring injury in the dying minutes of Monday night's loss to Melbourne. They're hopeful of regaining Graham, and Nathan Broad's four-match suspension has now been served, and he is available to play Gold Coast on the weekend. – Sarah Black

Updated: April 25, 2023

Early prognosis

A timeframe on Miller's return following confirmation of a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee will become clearer after he sees a surgeon. Flanders is progressing nicely and will be a welcome addition when he returns in two weeks. – Michael Whiting

Looking at this I think our injuries are overblown, the only real game changers we are missing are nank and Lynch, the rest there isn’t a huge drop off in who has come in to replace them

Gold Coast cruelled by injuries to Ned Flanders and Baldrick

Not solely about game changers. To many youngins, very rarely do teams fielding 8-9 players with less than 25 games of experience win.

Now, If Soldo was fit he'd be rucking not ben miller.
Graham and Broad are big outs too. Gibcus is still young but is another back option.
Tarrant also out, big-bodied FB who can play on the big forwards and he would be in over an inexperienced Young but Tylar is doing well.

Having Short back V the dees was very much welcome, you could see the difference with his experience, 30 disposals and almost 700m mtrs gained

Yeh Short is a huge in, but the difference between gibcus/broad and youngs performances (albeit better than expected) hasn't been that significent, then graham to someone like a clarke isn't too significent. Maybe I haven't put enough credence in the amount of inexperience, sub 20 gamers all coming in at once

I think we’ve missed Broad.
The backline has looked shaky all year, Broad was our most consistent performer last year.
He is such a versatile player and has become much more attacking over the last 12 months, during which time Grimes and Vlastuins form has dropped off

With Broad back this week I think the balance with the young guys is just about right - we played 6-7 of them each week last season when we were flying.

Wouldnt mind Graham back too although have a feeling they'll probably hold off for the following week given the 6 day break between those games. Hope to see Seth campbell back this week, one to watch for the second half of the season

10 players to return progressively over the next month to the VFL and AFL teams.

Broad, Graham possibly both return this week, then Nankervis/Soldo should be filling the AFL ruck position within 1 month.

Fringe players Sonsie and 4th and 5th season Dow and Ross can be slotted back in if needed.

Then Campbell, Brown, Gibcus, Bradtke, Nyuon, Soldo all go back into the VFL team progressively over the month. Smith and Rioli Junior should also be returning in 4-5 weeks time as well.

Broad, Graham, Campbell, Nyuon, Bradtke should be fine but hopefully we have the conditioning right for Nankervis, Gibcus, Brown, Soldo and they can quickly gain their touch for us.

Missing one of the best key forwards in the competition and your captain who is also your first choice ruckman…also your second choice ruckman…also three starting Key position backman from last year and one of your better pressure forwards is overblown?

Fingers crossed on Gibcus
That hamstring has been ongoing. I think he ripped it off the bone, then got an infection after the op.

Just hoping like hell it’ll be a full recovery , in particular his vertical leap and athleticism

Graham has to come back via the VFL. He had a limited preseason and it showed when he pulled a hammy. Graham only knows one way, flat out running, but until he is match fit with a few weeks under him he is an average player for one, and imagine if he did another soft tissue injury. When fit and busting his gut he is a good player, until then he needs a week at least in the VFL.
