Only because Kane and Cassisi will not be worth anything to us going forward. Just that simple... and its hard to drop players like Pfiffer after his last 1/4 and his age... And the fact that id like to drop Cassisi but it wont happen, Kane actually might get dropped.
Plus id like to see Rodan become our sub and stay there. could see him excelling at it for a few years for us.

Butch needs to stay in- he is a developing KPF and a rare talent.

We need to develop this guy without the expectation that he will kick 5 goals every week- so long as he is creating a contest in the forward line, chasing hard and pulling his 2 goals a game there should be a spot for him.

Developing this guy now will pay us back in the bucket-loads in future.

He crashed the packs, his hands looked "sticky" but lacking luck, it will come back. I agree, I would rather persist and spell Westy and give Stewart a go, or Lobbe, probably Lobbe

Yeah, surely Aaron Young, assuming he's fit, would be in line for a call up before Rodan.

And I've been as a big of a critic of Kane the playmaker as anyone. But Kane the tagger must play this week.

People do realize that Kane is 'only' 29, and is probably still the fittest player on our list?

He is playing at the best level he has for years this year, and if he continues that there is no reason why he could not play on for a few more years.

Kane's effort on the track, is exactly the type of effort we want all of our players to put in.

Why are we complacent as a club, that we 'wont' drop our Captain?

Dom should be in the office right this minute with Primus, telling Matty that he needs a couple of weeks in the SANFL. If he can not do that, we drop him. The club is bigger than that. He has been shocking.

Perfect in's and out's. Two ruckmen at last and Captain Kang and his twirling to freedom gone. I would say I'm going to be disappointed selection night, but as I don't expect Primus to admit either have been wrong, I can't really say that. More a small (5%) chance of being pleasantly surprised one of them occurs and very small (1%) of both.

Don't think Green was dropped last year, but he did get the sub vest for a game. He was dropped this year, but Neeld had already taken the captaincy off of him.

Ha, I don't have records of this sort of stuff. Peter Mann was dropped for three weeks at Freo. Bruce Monteath was touch and go and in Richmond's 1980 GF; sat on the bench until the last few minutes.

I could have sworn someone at Geelong got dropped but from memory it was Colbert who walked out of the club as captain that I was thinking of.

Can't believe all the calls for Kornes to get dropped, especially after his great effort on the weekend.

While we're at it - Pearce needs to go, because he has only had one good game in a row. Renouf as well, previous form to the Kangaroo game was sub par. Schulz also has to have a game in reserves as everyone on here wanted him dropped before his break out game a year and a half ago.

I watched the last quarter again last night and still didn't see the supposed career saving performance by Pfeiffer. He got his hands on the ball a few times, but a number of those possies were loose gets and 1 of the contested stats was due to his opponent going to ground and dropping the pill. Saw nothing to convince me he's AFL standard.

Boak to play and get his confidence up, Butcher to play and be told to lead hard towards the ball carrier.

Hopefully get a big win and break these shackles of only ever winning by a kick.

Played his role! didnt get in anyones way, can pinch hit through the mid for a bit. Keen to see him back it up tho!

Yer mate i totally agree! His disposal by foot was high class! A breath of fresh air!
And it showed he could play that role when asked to!
Better then a few we have tried in that position, Westhoff, Banner etc etc

I'd like to see Cassisi pull up sore from training and bring Moore in. It's a bit embarrassing just dropping ur captain like that - although his current form does warrant it. Imagine all the 'friendly' media with "Basket case club drop their inspirational captain" headlines in the papers.

Another one I would want to see is Salopek in for Thomas. Seriously, Thomas is meant to be the enforcer in the midfield and our midfield looks anything but. He really doesn't offer much else. At least Sal will bring some polished kicking and hopefully some quick thinking in the traffic.

Yeah dunno about Banner, but I reckon Ebert should take the Westhoff role. Hell, he could probably ruck better than Westhoff too
