Murdered Betts? You need to watch that game again.

Eddie Betts has been in white hot form.
16 goals for the season, he's kicked three bags of three, a five and a two.
The two was against Henry Slattery.

He's had thirteen disposals three times this season, fifteen in another and nine is his lowest. The nine was against Henry Slattery.

Betts is in the in form small forward of the competition and despite playing against very good defensive sides in the Bulldogs and Sydney, he's had his "worst" game against Essendon.

And you rate Thomas quite a bit more than any sane person would.

Thomas kicked 30 odd goals last year, he's a damn good footballer.

Hurley - plays for Bendigo next week for mine if he is ready. No instant senior return fro young blokes coming off soft tissue injuries.

Agree, although do Bendigo have a bye next week?
So he'll miss another week, but that won't do him any harm. Prismall, Reimers, Hurley and Welsh could all come back in the same game.

Jetta has unperformed up to this stage of his career, but then agian, so had leon davis, so had eddie betts, so have a lot of small flashy forwards.

Also he laid a tackle on Barham (i think) that should have been holding the ball, and then he tackled davis which forced the kick out of bounds on the full which resulted in a goal.

Davis and Jetta are both shit. Typical fringe players no where to be seen when the pressure is on

Your post would be better if it wasn't for the fact both Davis and Jetta stood up when the pressure was on ;)

Davis kicked a goal when they were two or three goals up no pressure around him. Jetta tried his best to miss a sitter with his stupid dance moves. Can't he just go back and kick a normal goal

Davis also kicked a goal with minutes left in the third quarter when we were up by 17. God knows how many possies he got in the last but he would have got at least 10. And we all know how important Jetta was in the last...;)

Yeh his last attempt at goal was quality a kid in u 10's would of at least kicked it off the ground. Spud please drop him and never pick him again his not in our best 22

He ****ed up a shot at goal with a rain soaked ball in a pressure packed match...Hang the bloke i say.

Ins: Mcveigh, Bellchambers.
Outs: Hille, Myers

Myers maybe a little unlucky but someones gotta make way for Mcveigh.

We cannot seriously expect Ryder to ruck for an entire game again. Bellchambers has got to come in. FFS we dont want to have Ryder go down as well.....we need to look after him irrespective of our opposition.

LOl what efforts, he accidental got the ball and hit a target
well he kicked the first goal, should have had the second through holding the ball, made Davis kick it out on the full, thus setting up the second.

Why does McVeigh have to come straight in. I would rather him have a week or two in the VFL to get match fit first, he has basically no pre season anyway

If we had Judd in the same case would you bring him in? of course you would, he is a superstar. see, we want to bring McVeigh in because we need him. understand?

What happened when we brough him in underdone last time- he got injured. Again, why risk it. It was clear he was underdone 2 weeks ago, why would it be different now. I would rather him play 40-60% of the game for Bendigo. McVeigh is important to us, that is why I would do this. He needs match fitness.

Bendigo have the bye this week.

Should we let him sleep in and watch cartoons this weekend and play with Bendigo the week after ?

Or here's another novel idea - lets play one of our highest paid and most important players in the seniors......

Had no idea he was that close.

You know anything about Laycock's injury?

I have to admit I want to know the answer to the same question, where is the big Lazycock?

Due to the Lions 'problems' in the ruck we should reward somebody playing well rather than just giving TommyB a game because we need another big body. Bring in Hooker ask him to do 15 to 20% game time in the ruck against Brennan or who ever the Lions are using as relief for Clark and then get Hooker to play down back where he is playing well for Bendigo. Then bring in McVeigh if fit and let Myers go back to Bendigo to get some touch. That should be it unless there is a couple of injuries (thinking of Lonergan and Lloyd).

I would play Bellchambers for the very reason a few people here are saying we don't need to, that is because Brisbane do not have a first string ruckman. To a) take advantage of the situation to allow first use of the ball in the middle; and b) give Bellchambers some game time against a reasonable match up for him to give him confidence. Essendon cannot expect Ryder to take the load over the season and therefore Bellchambers will need to come in at some point. What better time than now to give him game time and confidence.

Myers will be a good player but his game fitness needs to improve in the VFL IMO. Let him gain decision making confidence and game time there for a couple of weeks.

Dyson, despite a couple of minor mistakes was excellent against Collingwood and I hope he gains considerable confidence (there is that word again) out of it and continues that form.

Slattery is a no frills player who generally performs well for the team. May get beaten some weeks but unless you are a superstar that is going to happen.

Jetta looks like a player who need continuance and he is allowing team structure and flexibility so keep him in.

Lucas is down on confidence however still takes the opposition's best or second best defender and therefore is important to our structure. I saw glimpses against Collingwood that his kicking is coming back (eg His precision 50m pass from the centre to an Essendon player near the goal square I can't quite remember who in the 3rd quarter who then goaled). He is far from our worst even if he is far from his best, would like to see him retained in the side.

If Hurley is deemed fit then give him a light run in the VFL this week.

Therefore:

In: Bellchambers, McVeigh (If fit)
Out: Hille (inj), Myers (If McVeigh is fit)

We want Myers to get better yet we insist he should be dropped.

Smart

We actually support the team, not David Myers. We want the team to get better. You can't do that by playing guys that aren't fit or up to it at the moment.

The only smart thing to do is let him get 4 weeks or so at VFL level and get to a standard of performance that requires him to be selected.

You should earn your games... not given em.

that's Lucas ****ed then.

In any case, I agree with the principle, and I'd drop Lucas because he's been a liability; but I also don't believe you should **** with a winning team too much.

Minimal changes. Unless someone is bashing the door down, which they aren't.
