Not related to the Eagles but I thought this was a really interesting article and gives some insight in to where the game is headed post-covid from someone on the "war cabinet".

Didnt have the feel good factor to get strong discussion in Melbourne ( I live here).
Gordon is a real insider & pushing the AFL line in a marketplace where 'more, more' is the norm, good news the staple diet when footy is on the menu. Trying to bring reality in is still being ignored, e,g an east coast reserves comp costing money, not saving money.

the Norm Smith winner gets told they are going to win it as soon as the game is over. They're reminded not to swear, and to thank supporters, sponsors, and opposing team
What? Thats shit.

Another good one with X Ellis this morning with Nic Nat.

Her mentions Simmo baked them for going out for Glass's retirement during the season.

Sampi now works with the club but is up in the mines ATM with other coaches. I guess the club is lucky they were able to send coaches up to the mines during this Covid-19 situation.

From the HS.

David King
Top eight: West Coast, GWS, Richmond, Collingwood, Western Bulldogs, Brisbane Lions, Port Adelaide, North Melbourne
Premiers: West Coast
Wooden spoon: Gold Coast
Brownlow Medal: Marcus Bontempelli (WB)
Coleman Medal: Tom Lynch (Rich)
Rising Star: Max King (StK)
Bold prediction: Welcome back the 2014 version of Ken Hinkley as Port Adelaide thrives.
How will COVID-19 impact the 2020 season? If anyone tells you what’s going to happen with any confidence or certainty this season, they’re guessing. No one has any idea. Not a blue clue. Mark McGowan (WA Premier) holds the key to what the year looks like, but it’s his own teams that ultimately are most affected. 2020 - "th

I often wonder how his love of Simo impacts his impartiality.

Ever since he got stuck into Lecca in 2017, he's been pretty much on our side.
Purely because of Simmo in my opinion.

He was one, if not the only one in the media who took on Whately over the Gaff
report when Whately was going ballistic.

He did say that when he was staying in a hotel last year, there was a knock on the
door and a 6 pack of beer was delivered with a card from Simmo, so maybe that's why he loves us:)

Was the 6 pack for Kings view on the Gaff suspension?

Kingy was probably thinking Gaff was going to North at that stage

He coached him as a 16 year old and is pretty close to the family.

Whately was on his high horse and wanted him to be made an example of.
Said something along the lines of "society won't put up with this".

Kinngy pretty much said "it wasn't a societal issue it was a football issue".

Lot of pressure on Kelly. Hope the club can do its best to let him know it’s not only up to him. Don’t want him to feel shackled.

Are you serious? Are you a child? Do you honestly think that is the way the club conducts its business? Considering we won a premiership in 2018 without him I hardly think that is the case.

Just a side note we also didn't have Nic Nat, Sheppard and Gaff.

That's how good we are.
