I suspect Netanyahu will spend the next 70 odd days blowing the **** up out of southern half of Lebanon and the remaining bits of Gaza, and ignore Biden and Blinken, like he has for most of the last 13 months, and then when Trump comes in, in late January, tug at his forelocks and say we are prepared for a cease fire Mr President, and make it look like Trump has set up the deal.
Yep and then Kushner will be given free rein to build his luxury properties along the West Bank.

Musk's rocket supply the international space station and that is controlled half by Russia as there is the Russian Orbital segment and the US Orbital Segment. From the wiki page on the ISS;

There is no fixed percentage of ownership for the whole space station. Rather, Article 5 of the IGA sets forth that each partner shall retain jurisdiction and control over the elements it registers and over personnel in or on the Space Station who are its nationals.[1] Therefore, for each ISS module only one partner retains sole ownership.

Trump Put Musk on Phone With Zelensky During Call

Elon Musk was with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago when the president-elect spoke with Ukraine’s leader. It is not clear if they discussed any change in U.S. policy toward Ukraine.

President-elect Donald J. Trump spoke on Wednesday with Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and during the call handed the phone to Elon Musk, the increasingly influential billionaire who has played a key role in providing communications capability to Ukraine in its war with Russia, a person familiar with the discussion said.

It is not clear whether the three men touched on any change in U.S. policy toward Ukraine in the wake of Mr. Trump’s election. Mr. Musk was with Mr. Trump at Mar-a-Lago, his private club and residence in Florida, and the tone of the call was described as positive, according to the person familiar with the discussion.

A second person briefed on the call also confirmed Mr. Musk’s participation, which was reported earlier by Axios.
A third person briefed on the call described it as a “good talk,” saying that Mr. Zelensky had called Mr. Trump to congratulate him, and that when Mr. Trump handed Mr. Musk the phone, Mr. Zelensky thanked him for the communication assistance.

A Trump spokesman did not immediately provide a comment on the call.

.........................

Although it appeared to be the first time that Mr. Musk had joined a phone call between Mr. Trump and Mr. Zelensky, he has talked to the Ukrainian leader on at least two occasions during the war, according to Iuliia Mendel, a former spokeswoman for Mr. Zelensky.

Ms. Mendel, who worked for the Ukrainian presidential administration before Russia invaded nearly three years ago, said she had helped organize two calls between Mr. Musk and Mr. Zelensky in March 2022, roughly two weeks into the Russian invasion.

Ms. Mendel said an acquaintance of Mr. Musk’s had reached out to her in early March, asking her to help set up the call. For his part, she added, the Ukrainian leader was interested in Mr. Musk’s help in opening negotiations with the Kremlin. In particular, she said, Mr. Zelensky asked during one of the calls for Mr. Musk’s assistance in securing an agreement with Moscow to open a humanitarian corridor to evacuate civilians stranded in the besieged Ukrainian city of Mariupol.

It is unknown if Mr. Musk talked to the Kremlin following his two calls with Mr. Zelensky.

After Trump's four years someone will have to do what Teddy Roosevelt did a century ago and put the billionaires back in their boxes. Teddy dealt with the likes of JD Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie and JP Morgan and someone will have to do the same with Elon Musk. It isn't going to happen during Trump's Presidency but it will have to happen. The problem is, of course, that history shows the stark contrast between the Republican Party of the early 20th Century and today. Indeed there is a real contrast between the Republicans in the Regan years and today. Regan took the US out of the Moscow Olympics over the Russia invasion of Afghanistan, that would not happen with Trump.

Fortunately the Trump team has distanced itself from comments made by former Trump consultant Bryan Lanza. Lanza's comments in which he said the US priority would be establishing peace and not restoring lost territory echo the 'Peace for our Time ' statement espoused by Neville Chamberlain immediately after the Munich Agreement in 1938. Appeasing Hitler by ceding him territory did not work last century and it will not work with Putin. If Putin is allowed to keep the parts of Ukraine occupied since February 2022 it will afford him hero status in Russia and tell him that expansion is the way to go. Trump and his team should remember that Alaska was once part of Russia and is not that far from Russia.

I don’t think Trump would have much trouble with the US being annexed by Russia as long as the deal suits him.
Interesting how Putin has already allowed his media to humiliate Trump by splashing nude pics of First Lady elect Melania everywhere. A quiet message imo to keep Trump in his place and remind him that any Kompromat Putin has on Trump he will be happy to use if Trump steps out of line.

It's amazing how the human race keeps allowing history to keep repeating itself.

Pure hypothetical here, but if Trump negotiates an end to the war in the Ukraine without Ukraine ceding territory in the first 6 months of his presidency what would be your take?

This won't happen. What I said a year ago will happen. Russia will get all the territory it has gained. Ukraine will have to make assurances it will not join NATO. Zelensky will be sent into exile. Trump will say to that's it though. No more expansion or I'll **** you up. There will be a few small concessions here and there but that will be the crux of it. I said this a year ago and was derided and called a monster yada, yada. No I'm just a realist. This was a Proxy war that Ukraine could never win that the NeoCon Democrats wanted to weaken/destabilize Russia. That hasn't materialized. Trump has consistently said he would end it and this is how it will play out.

I'm just putting it forward as a hypothetical. While your prediction is certainly possible I don't think there's a person on the planet (including Trump, Zelensky and Putiepie) that can be 100% confident in exactly how it will play out.

Your hypothetical 100% wont happen. Oh and nobody gives a flying **** what OGC's take is because he's a moron.

All Ukraine land returned, including Crimea, and their children and allowed to join NATO in coming years, plus big reparations to rebuild the Eastern part of the country which were totally destroyed.
I would call him a genius.

Hypotheticals dont need to be perfectly accurate to be valuable in discussion (though of course I totally disagree with your "100%" assessment). If I was making a prediction I would state that instead. Im testing the inverse to the "if Trump murdered someone in broad daylight people would still vote for him" theory.

I care about OGCs take on this, because Id say his posts suggest he has views representative of a large part of society today.

If OGC's take represents a large part of society, Society is completely ****ed. He lives in his own echo chamber. Most of his posts are completely inane, nobody responds and he's basically talking to himself. Look at the Covid threads and this one for evidence of that. Even most of the Soyboys on here find him hard to take seriously.

I mean look at his this for verification he lives in some alternat reality:

"All Ukraine land returned, including Crimea, and their children and allowed to join NATO in coming years, plus big reparations to rebuild the Eastern part of the country which were totally destroyed.

WW3 is more likely than this outcome. In fact if this was the objective, it is likely we have WW3.

I think its worth noting that the entire Western framing of this conflict over the last four years has been by those with a vested interest in keeping war going at all costs. Those that benefited from it have been the exact same weapons manufacturers that pay the salary and promotion of the democrats in America. I don't actually find his comment that impossible (apart from the reparations and maybe the return of all hostages).

Also think you massively underestimate how big the left-wing echo chamber is now too.

But anyway I don't want to get dragged in to a politics thread but let's see where we are in 6-12 months.

Putin doing a favor for an old mate or maybe Trump calling in favor or two?

Yeah Mr Rudd, you better leave.

......meanwhile have they forgotten Trump called Harris 'mentally disabled'? (amongst other wild things he's said)......

Is it just me or is the USA a ****ing oddball country.

Did he? I mean she has become known as the queen of word salad by all and sundry.

Rudd does need to go it's an unworkable situation with his history of shitcanning Trump.

Yeah he did.

Also, Trump's vice president-elect called him an "idiot" and said he was "reprehensible." Privately, he compared him to Adolf Hitler. I mean if that's all out in the open on plenty of articles then Trump must be pretty forgiving.
