The reason I posted this here is that Janus may have been right. Maybe the main reason russia invaded Ukraine was to have control over Ukraine’s resources. Janus did post early on that it was all about Ukraine’s resources.

This is for all those who still haven’t understood that this war is not about NATO, protecting the Russian-speaking population, fighting against fascists, protecting Christian values or whatever other blather Putin has come up with.

It’s about wealth and who gets to have it. And the newly elected American oligarchs plan to get involved in this soon, that will be part of the “peace” settlement – perhaps not as crudely as Russian oligarchs, as individuals, but through investor/corporate structures.

...but that has never been confirmed to my knowledge) started telling their Russian oligarch buddies “Nyet” – We’re not sharing everything with you anymore, so get lost.

I still think the main reason for Putin’s war is to bring back the russian empire and the cultural genocide of Ukraine.

His core message is simple.
"Ukraine has no right to exist and he is fully justified in waging a war of aggression to reclaim historically Russian lands."

The russian oligarchs would have been happy to have control over Ukraine’s resources though.

Subtract seven!?

Half 42 is 21. 21 minus 7 is 14.
I've always been told its half + 7 is youngest for a marriage age discrepancy. Never hear of - 7 to date.

Looks like its + 7 for dating as well.

"Half-your-age-plus-seven" rule

One "rule of thumb" to determine whether an age difference is "socially acceptable" holds that a person should never date someone whose age is less than half their own plus seven years.[80][81][82][83] According to this rule, a 28-year-old would date no one younger than 21 (half of 28, plus 7) and a 50-year-old would date no one younger than 32 (half of 50, plus 7).

Seven years eh, yes and there was a movie called The Seven Year Itch, it starred Marilyn Monroe and Tom Ewell. It was in that movie that Marilyn stood over the subway exhaust vent and had her white dress blown up to her navel and thus created an iconic movie scene. In 1956 my Mum and Dad took me to the Ozone picture theatre in Port Adelaide to see the original.

All totally irrelevant I know but you did mention seven years and I am an old man with memories. In 1956 Dave Boyd won the Magarey Medal and Port was half way through our six in a row.

Aww, Matt Gaetz has graciously withdrawn his candidature for Trump's new Attorney General. Apparently he did not have the support of enough Republican senators to be confirmed. He had also resigned his House of Reps seat when Trump nominated him, so I don't know if that can be rescinded.
I’m sure if there is an illegal
way around it Trump and his cronies will find it
