It sounds like the position of forward/ruck is his to lose at this stage.
Still nothing guaranteed i would think.
Drew is the forward coach. I must have missed that somewhere
Mayhap there is a touch of Alistar Lynch in his story. Long periods out of the game reduced the wear and tear, and he blossomed to be his best well into his thirties. Fingers crossed.

I've just discovered the herald sun podcast sacked. It's awesome.

The 'learnings' across all the stories I've listens to so far is that as great as fagan is the success of the club comes from the board and the highest levels of management.

I hope that future planning in that area is understood. Do not want big ego dickheads ever to be in charge again.
I've really enjoyed it, but ive also only listened to the Lions related ones, Robert Shaw, Roosy, Wallsy, Aker, Leppa, etc.

The David Noble one was so interesting, from starting at Fitzroy to the Dogs reserves flag, the phone call about Phil Walsh, to John and last years GF (in hindsight you can definitely see why he left) Now CEO of DJR, what a story.

Well apparently we are the least hated team in the league, I think that's another accolade we have Fagan to thank for. Afterall who can hate Fages?

Which AFL club is your least favourite?
Collingwood (23.1%)
Carlton (16.6%)
Essendon (15.8%)
Geelong (8.7%)
Port Adelaide (7.8%)
Hawthorn (6.6%)
West Coast (3.1%)
Adelaide (3.1%)
Richmond (2.4%)
St Kilda (2.1%)
Melbourne (1.9%)
Sydney (1.9%)
Western Bulldogs (1.6%)
Fremantle (1.5%)
Gold Coast (1%)
GWS Giants (0.9%)
North Melbourne (0.9%)
Brisbane (0.6%)

Ffs that bit where Berry’s voice breaks when he says his mum raised him to be resilient hits me hard every time…I’m not crying, you’re crying! 😭 😭 😭

Haven't listened to this one yet but listening to their Grand Final wrap, apparently we had a massive go at recruiting Isaac Smith during the early rounds of the season 🤯
That would of completed the holy trinity of ex-Hawthorn half-backers playing for us: Hodge, Birchall and Smith ;)

And once again premiership ruck/forward Darcy Fort seems to not exist?

BRISBANE LIONS

Someone steps up to take Daniher’s throne

Joe Daniher shocked the footy world when he announced his retirement after the grand final. While he was no doubt a maligned player across his career, Daniher’s impact and importance to Chris Fagan’s side was enormous. Not only was he a gun goalkicker (50 goals in 2024), but his ability to pinch-hit in the ruck to relieve Oscar McInerney was crucial to team structure. So where do the Lions turn now? They’ve thrown former Sun Sam Day a lifeline as a delisted free agent, while youngster Henry Smith is also waiting in the wings. Swingman Darcy Gardiner is coming off an ACL but is another option, as is ex-Hawk Brandon Ryan. Finding some support for Eric Hipwood and Logan Morris will be crucial to Brisbane’s chances of going back-to-back in 2025.
