Gumby looks a lot stronger again
Steinberg looked impressive up forward
Heppell good footy smarts, reads play, pace slight query
Winderlich hobbled off with calf/thigh injury. didn't look overly serious

Bombers unscathed after solid hitout

Essendon stepped up its preparations for the upcoming season taking part in an intra club match this morning.

General Manager Football Operations Paul Hamilton said the players performed well in their first competitive game for the year.

“This was really just a more formalised progression of the competitive training we’ve been building towards,” Hamilton said.

“It allowed the coaches to get out onto the ground and talk to the players during the game as well which was extremely beneficial.”

Importantly, Hamilton said the players got through the match unscathed.

Yeah they seem to be keeping everything under wraps. They wont say whos flying through training and matches etc atm.
I was hoping for something on bomber tv, but it looks unlikely!

I guess us fans won't mind about the secrecy if they unveil a really good game-plan and we win a few early games. But it's annoying as a fan not to know who's flying on the track.

This preseason has been so secretive. Most training sessions have been closed. I've been wanting to read training reports, but not getting many. But this is all irrelevant, it is simply building anticipation. Cannot wait for round 1.
