I think it was summarised on 5AA the best...

The majority of AFC fans have been patient. They have said trust the process, trust the people in the roles, trust the rebuild, trust the external independent review and trust they will get the job done for success.

This has been 7 years. Most have been patient and trusted... but now everyone has lost their patience and the AFC have lost our trust.

Given the lack of progress and success, the time is now at the end of 2024 to invoke change.

The board needs to go

Mark Rucuitto needs to go

Hamish Ogilvy needs to go

Justin Reid needs to go

Matthew Nicks needs to go

This is the fundamental tectonic shift of change the club needs to have cultivate a new era in our club.

Then the chairman along with a new board can go ahead and start the process of identifying the best people with the right experience and success we need to make this club a success.

The thing that i want to discuss is how can this be done.

Can the chairman just start culling? or how can this be done?

Surely there is enough fans there that would be supportive of these changes... how can we get these changes for consideration to the right people/person within the club?

What is it going to take to get these proposed actions heard?

The Board could meet and give Nicks, Reid and Ogilvie their pink slips today if they wanted to.

Not sure what the process is with Roo as he is part of the Board, but surely at this point the Board has to have realised that Roo has essentially turned the club has turned into his own ego-driven project.

That would mean the board having to admit they were wrong, bunch of arrogant up themselves corporate big wigs would never do that, it would hurt their reputation.

On the board, they arent going anywhere sadly. From what I remember, Olsen's term doesnt end till 2027, and only 3 directors are up this year ~ Roo, Lynch (member elect) and Fennell. AFL have no interest in making whole sale changes to their directors..so they will stay in place for sure. Roo will no doubt get re-elected if he nominates because people sadly remember his playing days, as opposed to any administration ability (which interestingly Rowie finally had a go at last night...thank god).

Nicks - they will use injuries as the excuse, and he will coach till at least mid way through next year. We sadly all know this.

Kelly - Roo's mate. Hamish - Roo's mate. Reid - son of our first list manager..wont go. So no changes there.

Assistants - my bet is we really go hard here...and sack the fat ruckman from Norwood.

Review complete.

This is what is needed ASAP.
2028 your board gets back control according to your constitution.

They don't have to give that control to the members though.

You guys need to start fighting now to make sure that they at least give you a significant portion of the seats if not the majority.

Of course I really only want this selfishly as if you guys get that it will put pressure on our board to fight for the same.

Thing is, they arent actually corporate big wigs. They are Adelaide minnows. A couple of career public servants / politicians, a newsreader, and Roo....Compare the Adelaide board to say Sydney:

Sydney also has 2 Football Directors...That to me makes so much more sense than relying on Roo...

Our board is the AFLs board. The AFL would prefer docile ppl

If you look at the state of our list the rebuild still has at least another 3 to 5 years to go. This is assuming those currently in charge are given the boot and cannot do any further damage.

Silvers mentioned there's a limit on board members (4 terms I think) and it sounds like Roo won't be allowed to go on past 2025 because of that.

I know Olsen talked about putting that in (I think he wanted 10 years?) so maybe that gone done and they just never mentioned it.

Hate to say it, but it's not going to happen. Even Nick's won't go, the club will rather deal with the mediocrity then ever admit to making a mistake re-signing Nicks.
Club is rotten to its core. Olsen saying positives about Nicks the other day proves how delusional the board is.
External review replaced duds with more duds.

I just couldn’t bear to listen to silvers on 5AA spoken like a true politician

And we know how those guys are right now.

I just shake my head and all I can do is laugh!

The boys club will continue..

I have 5 elite crow seats… I really don’t know if I am going to renew….

I was a Gold Vic member right up until 2013 and then ditched it after the 2014 mess.

Have never been a member since.

Until the likes of Roo, Reid, Ogilvie, VB, Nicks, Kelly and Godden are all shown the door and replaced by actually competent football people, i'll never touch a membership again at the club.

Silvers and Olsen are really on notice now. Lets see if they do anything at all or just parrot out the same worn out lines.

Fair - although not directly with Crows, I've still been in corporate boxes/President club functions at the footy for last ~5 years. Also been to every grand final since 2019 in Melb in a corporate function :$

I've had my fill!
