Barrett reporting today that Abletts shoulder was a lot worse than first reported and he is a long way off being able to resume training. Apparently four is bad and he needed six "anchor points" and also tore his bicep. Has anyone else heard anything? Would be a tragedy if he wasn't able to get back on the park.

Yeah one of the guys on the SEN driving home show like a month ago said they spoke to the man himself and sad that it was torn right of the bone or something bad like that. Much worse than what has officially been reported.

Holy shit Barrett is slow at picking this up.

He didn't just tear his bicep, he tore it off the bone.

He'll be fine. Freak athlete.

Wasn't there an article unlinked to Essendon about drugs and ASADA saying there was a players who were "under injury" to hide a controversy? I believe there was 3 and one of those who aren't allowed to play again because it's a 3rd strike or some rubbish?

Didn't they announce he signed a new contract then all of a sudden there was more to discuss, I doubt he will never play again but perhaps it is more serious than first thought.

I think that was more for PR reasons. They will (re)announce it after they sign a new coach I'm sure.
