Is Josh Kennedy the best tall forward in the game?

Lucky. He almost cost his team a finals spot today. 2nd worst ranked Eagles player and was only able to get his goal from a free kick straight in front.

Really stood up against a top 8 team didn't he Checkered.

Where were you last week?

Lance Franklin

Brisbane 8 goals
Carlton 10 goals

Kennedy vs GWS, 4 goals also

But doesnt every forward kick bags against weaker teams? Unless one was an outright freak who just demolished everyone that is how it is.

Buddy has proved his big game credentials and then some, Kennedy got one soft free and did stuff all else. Of course Kennedy is a great player but this has totally proved my point, that being a complete player is so much more important than being a good traditional forward that relies on delivery, when Buddy isn't kicking goals he's directly creating half a dozen.

And yet your team got better when he left.

On their current salaries I would still prefer two Kennedy's to 1 Franklin.

I don't think much of the consensus is that Kennedy is average. He's just not as good as Buddy, and there's nothing wrong with that :)

...and please remember they play different positions and roles. Kennedy plays traditional FF, Buddy plays his own variant of CHF...Both are more than useful. Bud is a champ.

We had prime Roughead, Gunston, Rioli, Breust, Puopolo, Hale maybe Burgoyne in the forward line mate, we weren't gonna get worse that was the best forward line in the comp. We were about the same, scored 25 points more.

Some insecure Sydney fans in here.

JK kicks three goals in nine consecutive games, finishes a handful of goals behind Buddy despite missing a while five games, and Hebbard finally has a down game (despite busting his ass as always) and they pile on.

prolly just responding to a thread we all (inc me) should have ignored. Kennedy is a FF and Budd has a different role. Coleman is immaterial to both I would expect

Still think if Sydney had poached Clarkson instead of Franklin they would have been a whole lot more successful then you ended up being. Your resurgence this year proves how valuable Clarkson is. Sans Buddy you became unpredictable and a whole lot more dangerous.

No coincidence you beat us by 150 without him cause we simply did not know who was gonna kick the bags.

The Bloods are just an average team of proletarians who hang tough and earn the modicum of success that comes their way - 7 or 8 of our team yesterday came off the rookie list

Probably shoulda stayed that way, no Tippett or Bradshaw then :p

They made the mistake of thinking Buddy/Tippett was going to be the new Buddy/Roughead, getting Buddy was not the mistake that's for sure. I think without Buddy we did get slightly more efficient, but that was mainly because he was such a dominant figure in our forward line, we always did kick it too him too much when the game was on the line, it's the danger of having a superstar forward, I used to get very frustrated at kicking to Buddy in a contest when we had a couple of stars wide open.
Heck Sydney probably deal with the same thing, he's TOO good.

Good points made, I think if the Swans had someone down forward not named Sam or Kurt there would be a lot more of a spread too and not so much dominance on one.

Now hand over our pick sucka ;)

Hawks have been a consistently better team than the Bloods but we have 2012 and you guys have 2014...two close wins to your mob this year. Your mob will be back in it next year and I hope our battlers will as well..may the rivalry continue! I hope Burkey's Saints continue to develop as well. This has been an amazing season.

Getting Buddy was not the mistake, getting Tippet was.
