Is the AFL telling Umpires to favour Brisbane and GC?

You would be naive to think that it wouldnt happen in some shape or form. They are employed by the AFL. It is common knowledge that used to happen in the NBA. But i think that especially over the past couple of years is becoming more obvious that something like this is happening

The only thing I get my nose out of joint with regards to umpires is with Stevic & how he was allowed to link arms with the Hawks players in huddles before games & after victories when he sang the song with his team mates!

I actually preferred how he failed to pay those frees to Sydney in the 2016 GF allowing Sydney to lose yet another GF

Working for the Hawks when they aren't even relevant - love it

If only Sydney'd got those frees, they might have lifted their game above ordinary.

Regardless of whether or not it's an accurate 5 metres Brand is closer to the player than what the umpire has indicated. He was told to get back 3 or 4 times by the umpire. I agree its a harsh penalty for something that didn't affect Ainsworth's kick but the umpire did what the rules state.

Why didn't he pay the 50 before the GC player started his run-in? Brand didn't move forward from that point. I think the umpire was grandstanding, in a "Gotcha!" sense.

I wonder which player he roomed with when he came over to help them knock us off in the '15 prelim?

I'm tipping Gunston after the non-existent free he paid him to give Hawthorn the momentum back in the '13 GF just as we were getting on top of them.

The guy was an ever-present thorn in the oppositions' side during the Hawthorn dynasty. One of the first invited to the reunions down the track for sure.

He may make their team of the century.
