Is there any reason to attend home games?

We're one official home game into the 2024 season. Our season is over.

I have two memberships to attend our home games. I do not want them. No one seems to these days. I can't give tickets away. Can anyone think of any reason any a person would attend a game played by this group of pathetic losers for the rest of the year?

If so, can you let me know what it is?
To watch nicks go balder

Predict the crowd for essendon
Well I'm not going but that's because Taylor Swift is dropping a new album at 2pm that Friday and she brings me way more joy than the Crows ever have.

I was 10 years old the last time we won a premiership I'm 36 married with kids now and it's bloody unlikely we'll win one before I turn 60! Can't imagine how it must feel to be an older fan and think I'll probably die before we win another one

I still go, but I can honestly say that I am just not emotionally engaged anymore.

I can't really explain it, but after 2017 and all the crap with the camp and how poorly we handled it, my emotional bond with the club has been broken and it's never been the same since.

Last night I didn't care at all when we lost nor did I really care when we didn't make the finals last year.

It's all just "meh" to me now.

I'm taking my son to a game later in the year. He's pretty keen to get stuck into the hot chips, the pipsqueak polished off the better part of 3 buckets last time. I'll just enjoy the father son bonding time. As a kid I went to the Richmond game in 93 where Mods went boonta, but then spent the next 3 years going along with my dad to watch us get pasted nearly every time. My son's had a pretty good life, won't hurt him to experience some solid disappointment every now and then.

I'm loathe to put a Crows guernsey on him though because he's 7 years old and weighs 20kg soaking wet and I'm afraid if Nicksy sees him he'll try and sub him on.

Shave his head and put him in the coaches box

Coming from the NT has always revolved around when the Crows matches were on

Don’t even look these days at schedules for AO

All our big flasks once filled with coffee and hot soup are in the bottom of the pantry topped with dust and probs mould

Couldn’t care

Miss the AO atmosphere and the experience
I just want to see effort. Basic skills
and the early signing of Nicks has made me “frustrated “
Like “frustrated “

i stopped back in 2018. i was a season ticket holder since i was 8 way back in 1991.have not renewed since. i have been to 3 games since the GF debacle.
Similar. Olsen was the last straw for me. 29 years a season ticket holder. Went last night, with my kids but hardly enjoyed it.

I stopped a while back. I used to buy the interstate membership and go watch matches in Melbourne. It was really good too, I'd go to 4 or 5 matches in Victoria each year and then I just couldn't be bothered a few years back. It was obvious what the clubs issues were but nobody addressed them, they hoped they'd go away.

I still watch a couple of games at least over in Melbourne each year but the enthusiasm died, it is more for the dinners and just hanging out with friends than the 3 hours I spend watching my team get pummeled

Yeah, I think this is a common sentiment. I feel like at some point the club will come good again and then I'll probably be more emotionally invested. Right now I'm just kind of riding the wave each year, not getting too caught up in what happens.

Ten years ago I would have been devastated after a loss like the one yesterday. It would have ruined my whole weekend. Now it's hard to care.

Is that you Brodie smith?

In all seriousness my parents and the rest of my family are port supporters. They often comment on how painful it must be to support the crows. Luckily port don't exactly have the best history going around in the AFL. But port do get themselves up for big games better than we do. Generally when the going gets tough we are weak as piss.

Plus we have a loooong history of getting ahead of ourselves and this year is looking like just another case of that. Unfortunately for Tex that'll probably see his career out. But it's the way we say goodbye to most of our top players. He should just be grateful we didn't drop him for the GF then ship him off to Freo.
