If albo doesnt placate these guys they will get rid of him....so what choice does he have. It's relatively easy to sway public opinion and we're currently getting a dose. I take your point, and both parties in gov't have been using overseas workers as a skill source for decades....i just dont know why young aussie blokes don't go into the trades. I would have done it if i was a kid again...

my point being that the neo-classical right wing fascist economists are even predicting a RISE in unemployment because of restrictions to immigration - and not just because of the loss of consumption but because overseas skilled workers create more jobs....

So there's no easy answer, which was what my point was making, although I concede that Labor's over the top immigration numbers - probably to stop us going into recession - are the fault of Labor.
