Mid East Israel declare war after Hamas attack III

I'm always impressed that israelis can spit in the face of an organisation that gave it the land in the first place. Oh I forgot. Yahweh gave them the land.

An interesting sidelight that takes me back to my youth when I studied australian history and an Australian guy called Doc Evatt strode the world stage. In retrospect, I now realise that he was just implementing what his colonial masters were wanting...He was a Labor man too....and he oversaw the body that partitioned the land between the palestinians and the jews from europe. I remember in history class that we were proud of him.....maybe I lost that loving feeling over the years.

Can we please have our politicians back? A bit of spraypainting today will invariably keep them working away on that single issue.... I dont think that i've heard a politician say anything about inflation and housing for months...

And how should we Have Palestine on their Palestinian land?

The 2 state solution was suggested.

If I had it my way, I would let the whole Palestinian population be settled on one patch of land.

Either in the Gaza strip or Just in the west bank.

it’s their land. israel is the occupier and now the destroyer. get out of palestine and the west bank. and pay reparations for the damage.

bc the zionists have the yanks by the balls that is not likely. however, returning the palestinians to their homeland isn’t too much to ask. and if the western world has any conscience as they stood by and did sfa to stop the genocide, we should aid the palestinians with funds and expertise with the rebuild.

you won't see this anywhere in the dirty diggers shitfest. and you can bet ya sweet patootie the zionists didn’t do the same for their detainees. in fact, we know they didn't

Its interesting that is on sky news. The people screening the videos mustnt be paying attention.

It's not surprising that the palestinians took care of the hostages. They knew that the israelis are looking for anything negative to blast to the world through the media that they own...

And as you said, the Israelis are doing the opposite as they're long past caring what the left wing marginalised media will do with stories about truncheons in nether regions.

They are arabs who come from Palestine.
Like Australians who come from Tasmania.
Australians who come from Gippsland.
Australians who come from the mallee district.
Australians who come from Atherton Tablelands.
I don't think it's your intention but that's a pretty gross assertion.

Would you say that Moroccan Arabs are to Iraqi Arabs what New South Welshmen are to Victorians? Or Brazilian Arabs (of which there are 10 million+) are to Iranian Arabs what Western Australians are to Queenslanders?

The answer is no. There's massive differences based on where they were brought up which makes sense given there's over 400 million Arabic people scattered across the world. Ethnicities are inherently a social construct, ergo you could theoretically be racist towards Palestinians without necessarily having a racial prejudice against Arabic people as a whole. If you don't believe me, go to Morocco or Algeria and hear how a lot of people there will talk about their neighbouring Arabic brothers and sisters. Even if you look at many of the stereotypical reasons people will use to justify racism against Arabic people, they will often point to things that might happen in very conservative and fundamentalist Muslim countries that don't happen in other Muslim countries.

As was rightly pointed out, Palestine exists and therefore Palestinians exist. The fact that they share their Arabic ethnicity with people all over the world does not change that.

Well said. Although Iranians don't tend to be Arabs and as a Victorian Australian I tend to say a lot of awful things about Queenslanders.

Yeah from memory they Arabic people only account for 1-2% of the Iranian population but the country will still get lumped in as an Arabic country, which is emblematic of the issue of assuming they can always be lumped in as one when it comes to issues pertaining to race.

Where does it stop? The usual reason for stopping tictok is that its owned by the chinese.....but what about the perception that a lot of the pro-palestinian support was voiced on that weird app?

Would the lobby get the US govt to can tictok because it was too supportive of palestinians? Sounds possible....sounds almost probable...

The whole area is a bit of a melting pot, and the current borders are very arbitrary.

Gazan's have somewhat of a history i suppose.

I'm daydreaming about freo becoming a part of israel.... I wouldnt have to pay for the new underground power, the US would finance it.

Israel's media setting new lows in brazen-ness. They want to call what Hamas did a new term "Kinocide" meaning the targetting of families. Even though Hamas killed a lot more soldiers than families and Israel killed a lot more families than Hamas, wiping out multiple generations of families. Here's a barely-concealed-racist passage.

The bestial crimes carried out by thousands of Hamas-led terrorists on October 7, 2023, were unspeakable – but the authors of a newly released 79-page report want the world to speak about them and spread the word.

Writing for the Civil Commission on October 7 Crimes by Hamas against Women and Children, they have even given it a name because at no time in history had this exact type of crime been committed. They called it “kinocide” – the targeting of families, calling it a new crime against humanity.

There will be people who swallow this nonsense.

You'd expect orders to be issued to US politicians and our people too. I can see the Dutts getting in the swing of it early on. The interesting thing about the whole "report" is that its focus is entirely international....

The israeli/jewish mouthpiece in Australia - the Australian - has already written about the term.

In fact the Times of Israel wrote about kinocide in June of last year and they didnt indicate where the public could get access to the report.

I havent found the report even though I have see 3 or 4 propaganda sites referring to it...

There seems to be a commonalty between israelis and Trump..... neither seem to worry about the truth

Good news for the israeli supporters out there - the death toll in gaza has been revised up to 60,000.....thats about 150 a day on an ongoing rate.

I'm sure that the figures will go higher, so dont get depressed in your whatsapp groups....think positively. I'm sure there are a load of children underneath the rubble.

I noticed from the videos that the israeli bulldozers have pushed the rubble together so that their tanks could get through and enhance their killing, and I figure that a lot of the bodies will be scattered everywhere, even if the explosives didnt do it in the first place. So its going to take time to establish higher figures - be patient.

Remember the first teaching in Pirkei Avot is to be patient in judgment, which means to weigh things and not make hasty decisions. The bodies will come...
