Gallipoli could have worked but was botched. You may wish to check your numbers, Gallipoli was terrible but the death toll was relatively small compared to the horrors to come. It was more like 0.2% of our male population died at Gallipolli - the whole war got close to 10%

So far retaliatory attacks are not immediately after they’ve been attacked.

a) the plan to annihilate the popultaion in North Gaza through a combination of displacement, starvation and murder
b) the plan to subject Lebanon to seize territory in Lebanon via the same methods used in Gaza (extermination of civilians through indiscriminate bombing of residential areas, bombing hospitals, schools)
c) the plan to provoke Iran into a further retaliation which can then be used as a pretext to launch an all out war
Nethanyahu is simply a proxy for US imperialism. Everything he does is only possible because of the full backing of the Biden administration, through massive military aid and unconditional political support.
This is not a genocide just committed by Israel.
It is a US/Israel genocide.
Moreover, Germany and the UK are also heavily implicated.

One would hope so. Iran also stated that they are aware of their responsibilities to regional peace as well. Hopefully, that's not just words and both sides are concerned with how to end this rather than the next retaliation.
