I dont disagree. it's not criticism of you. I filled a thread over the last year with similar stuff and was regularly name-called and threatened in the early posts. Strange but that doesnt happen now. Maybe they've reformed in their whatsup groups and decided on the low-profile approach. The current gaza/west bank situation does seem to have reverted to the "usual situation" of the past decades but with the world becoming acclimatised to the higher death toll.

Egypt is putting forward ceasefire proposals. I get the feeling that trump is going to force it to open the gates and allow the palestinians out, which will lead to a ceasefire and a broom-type approach from the israelis. Egypt wont want the refugees but maybe trump can strongarm others and allocations made. It might give him his quick fix while giving the israelis what they want. i'm not sure how trump is going to engineer the palestinians out of the west bank.

Actually, I think the russians have a better claim to east ukraine... I'd prefer a vote in that region. Not that votes are always the best way to allocate territory but i think most there are imported russians with a long history. Not that a vote would work in the west bank. Having a vote there would include imported americans and europeans - many of which are fairly recent.

I didnt say that, but i said that the east of ukraine has recent history of a significant amount russian people living there. I dont think it's enough for a separate state and thats why i mentioned a vote. In the past, it seems that eastern ukrainians wanted to be in ukraine. A vote might give voice to that.
