Mid East Israel declare war after Hamas attack III

FYI, the IDF have NOT stopped killing and harming Palestinians. They’ve now gone into the West Bank and killed a couple of people in Gaza (specifically in Rafah).

The IDF are seemingly baiting Hamas into a response to try justifying their next onslaught. Trump’s already talking about how nice the Gaza coastline is, so I’m seeing a lot of red flags right now.

I hope people remember what they’re currently doing so that they have context should Hamas or other Palestinians respond to this.

“Judging by reports from the field, the plan seems to be to maintain Israeli control of northern Gaza indefinitely and—if the apocalyptic Messianists have their way—to settle it with Jews as if nothing has been learned from the bitter experience of the past”

This is ridiculous, the Palestinians just cannot get reprieve from the US and Israeli oppression.

This is what a ceasefire truly means to the Israeli government. How evil

spot on. and it's been ever thus. without the tin tanks trillions israel would not have the power and influence it does today. and it's not party political the corrupt, cruel, oppressive, israeli outfit and their fellow travellers would not have the power or weaponry they which has allowed them carry out their genocide.

The most frustrating thing when looking at the palestinian side of things, is the presence of different groups with different agendas. It really plays into the hands of the israelis...obviously fostered by them. Clearly, the palestinian authority cant officially join with hamas at this time, but something needs to happen behind the scenes. Israel is now going for its prime target in the west bank and palestinians will need to be united.

Really? You suggest that you put Hamas in charge of everything?

What would your unification under Hamas achieve except continued annihilation?

If Palestine is to unite they need to unite in their rejection of Hamas. Hamas has caused them only misery.
They are like a gang of 12 year old kids who decide to get back at the Gypsy Jokers who have invaded "their" territory.
Maybe they are right, but they are only going to cause more hardship.

I printed it three times and I still cant see the bit where I said that I'd put hamas in charge of everything.

why on earth would the PA want to join with hamas officially or unofficially?
And if they did join , it wouldn't be the PA calling the shots.
The PA were the ones attempting to supply water, power, food, etc to palestinians. Hamas brought it crashing down around them.

The PA is controlling things in the West Bank but they dont have much credibility. They vacated gaza 15 years ago after hamas won the election there. They dont supply water or power to gaza. Hamas support was declining before oct 23 but it's been improving since then among gazans because they can see that they will never get anywhere playing softball like the PA has been. At any rate, the Israelis say that they dont want to deal with the PA ...probably because hamas being in charge in gaza gives them a reason to murder.

My point was that beyond the labels, palestinians should look to create a common front.

Look at the israelis. Apparently some of the public dont want to murder palestinians, but they support the right wing ministers in the cabinet, because they realise they need to create a common front. Unity is important in times of war.
