I can understand people being silent to maintain their position in society....their money, their big houses etc...but are they forced to talk to these people?...to trade with them? to buy their technology? to sell them arms?...is someone putting a gun to their head and forcing them into "business as usual"?...

All those movies, all those days of rememberance, all those solemn trips and laying of flowers....all the crap to imprint the narrative of "never again". What a load of crap. I have no respect for the murderers but those licking their butts are almost as bad...

But maybe i should be more realistic. The truth is that there are no "sides" in this conflict. People in charge on both sides look around themselves and look for opportunities to make money, to gain more power. It's all just a game or a mad scramble. As donald trump would argue, it's the idiots who risk their lives fighting wars, who are loyal to the flag, who follow orders ....and who dont get a part of the action, who are really the mugs. The people who murder and dont get a payback. The israeli soldiers who lose limbs and die a lonely life with no promised land in sight. The hordes who are conned into sacrificing for a promised land so that a few can build a condo by the sea. The world is full of suckers and victims and a few who hold the cash.

As long as they die "believing" in the promised land being just a step away, or the rapture drawing nearer.

Not too many mainstream outlets appear to be discussing Netty's antisemitism extravaganza. This is from a socialist standpoint but the points are well made. The european right want to strengthen the connection with israel. I bet Dutts would love to go....

There would appear to be a push to push out, what the americans would call "liberal" humanist attitudes from europe, with israel, the USA, the european right seeking to overthrow the french/spain/ireland etc led side. Steve Bannon loves this stuff. Obviously, it's not as simple as that because many of the european "liberals" are religious too, such as the catholics in ireland ironically. It's a reflection of what is happening in the US with the democrat party which might be full of wokes but which is also full of so-called judeo-christians. A peeling off and a re-distribution where old foes become friends and old friends become foes.

The common theme seems to be reliance of military power and a desire to dominate vs a rules based system. Does Australia tag along with the US and Israel in the hopes of making a meaningful contribution to the junta, in order to secure its security? Or does it try to maintain links with faraway traditional european allies - note canada? Does it try to forge stronger links with China a la Keating?

If I was a young australian trying to get ahead in today's world, I would be networking with the people in control and brushing up on "judeo-christian" holidays..... happy hanukkah
