A state is responsible for the actions of a state. An ethnic group is not responsible for the actions of some mebers of that ethnic group, even when those people pretend they speak for everyone in that ethnic group.

No, I'm using a blanket term for 2 groups currently at conflict.

People posting in this thread should at least be smart enough to understand this.

I'm not going to go on a 4 paragraph tangent every single post to excuse every minority and ethnic group from either side and distance them from their respective leaderships.

It's ridiculous to expect that.

The combatants are Israel/IDF and Hamas - according to Israel propaganda. So they are - nominally at least - the 2 groups in conflict.
Unless Gazan children are actually all armed??

But it's evident Israel are treating all Gazans as combatants. Even as we've now seen, the non-Islamic ones.

Israel is a state, Palestinians are an ethnic group. You're making a category error conflating the two and you're either too stubborn to admit it or not smart enough to understand what I'm saying.
Well, pretty much everyone else understands the point being made so maybe it's just you that has the issue.

Time to move on.

And therein lies your issue, and why your semantics aren't working. The Palenstinians aren't actively in a a conflict. The state of Israel is.

Once again, this is why context, and nuance, matters.

It doesn't, because everyone knows what I'm talking about.

If you want to argue semantics, do it with someone else and stop going off-topic.

No... saying "just move on" is how Islamophobia gets propagated. The west says "well they're basically the same thing, you know what we mean, just move on" and it gives people the green light to see all muslims/Palestinians/anyone who doesn't look the same as terrorists.

I'd hope people wasting their time to post in this thread were smart enough to get the context of what I was saying.

No, you made it up in your head.

I'm moving on from this 'line' where people believe made up rubbish in their own minds, thank you.
So when you say "Palestinians" you mean "Hamas"?

What is your aversion to referring to Hamas? They're a known terror organisation with few (if any) sympathisers in this country... I just don't get it... You'd rather try and justify why you said Palestinians instead.

People will draw their own conclusions, when you give them cause to do so. Rather than just say "yep, probably should have said Hamas there instead" you've spent multiple posts trying to defend your original position. And then wonder why we "made up rubbish in our own minds".

If I'm talking about the current conflict? Yes, of course. Just like when I say 'Israel' I mean the government/Zionists, not all Israelis.

The post these people are up in arms over wasn't in reference to the current conflict, it was a general observation of the history since 1948.

For some reason people are jumping on their soap-box because I didn't specifically reference Hamas in one post(despite doing this numerously previously in this thread), because I was talking about history since 1948, where previous Palestinian leadership attempted to overthrow governments in Jordan and Egypt, succeeded in Lebanon and Palestinians(as an ethnic group) were mass-deported from Kuwait after the Gulf War for supporting Iraq's invasion.

That was the context of that particular post and not the current conflict with Hamas/Israeli government, because this conflict has been going on far longer than either Hamas or Netanyahu's government have existed.

It was a reflective post which didn't attribute the blame to on side over the other but apparently that was too difficult for some to understand because they keep banging on specifically about the current conflict.

The respective leaderships of both sides are complicit in the ongoing conflict and suffering of civilian populations and my comment about people 'picking a side' are literally doubling down and proving my comment correct.

What was the original post about?

Go and re-read it and tell me your findings.

Why not just say that?

Because I thought I made that clear in the original post that these people obsessed over semantics clearly failed to comprehend?
Do you understand that maybe you didn't? That maybe your past, frankly ugly, opinions overshadow your posts and you should be very specific on topics like this?

The more I think about tunnels, the more I think they are a defensive strategy.

Why do people let Israel gaslight you into thinking they are offensive?

Tom Cruise What GIF

Do you agree there are most likely to be terrorists, war criminals and rapists on both sides?

one more so than the other but yes both on are on either side.
