Yes... mostly... teasingly... but...

Speaking of glasses/contacts, how about Dixon, not just Ebo?

There’s a very fine line between scrambling the ball madly and *badly* and watching it come back/run back over our heads 2017-18 style.

Waiting for the first poster brave enough to change their name to Ebert2Dixon for 2019. We can’t all be Hammer2Marshall or Wingard2Grays.

Dixon's openly admitted his eyesight is shit, and apparently he already wears contacts.

In fairness, the Hawks didn't cut any of those guys, they all chose to leave. And Hawthorn got the combined return of a third rounder and some meaningless late picks on all three of them. Losing Hodge, Mitchell and Lewis really wasn't the act of list management genius that posters on here act like it was.
Freed up salary cap

TBH I have a pretty quiet existence and in general I'm pretty introverted

Footy is my outlet, my release, my Mr Hyde to my Dr Jekyll

I love it when we win, I love melt days, I love wallowing in the depression of a loss, I love the promise of next week, I love the fluidity of club management and player movements, I love screaming at the umps and booing the oppo, I love getting angry when we find ourselves in situations like these

Even when it's not so good footy is OK with me

Whatever happens will happen
But winning regularly with an exciting game plan is so much more fun. Lot of truth in your post though. We all need our footy although I'm looking forward to season over.

We've seen overly defensive Ken as far back as 2013 against Geelong, PF. But it wasn't as bad with senior assistants Walsh and Richardson imo. But now with Bassett and a bunch of numpties in the box, Ken has been allowed to finger smash that defensive button without anyone to challenge him or correct the ship.

Hopefully that's where people Schofield and Ratten can add that much needed flair.

Unfortunately Ken we hear the same this time every year. Biggest mistake Port made was let Hinkley bluff them into a new contract.

players lacking skill, ruck men in the system for 3-4 years that aren't up to yet falls squarely on Ken . But you einsteins thought yeah lets sign him up before GC poach him.. geez i wish they did. giphy (10).gif

Wearing contacts & playing footy really is hard, getting bumped and them floating around your eyes makes it tough to see/judge the flight of the ball.

Port should organise laser vision correction or at the very least orthokeratology lenses so that he wears his contacts while he sleeps and has perfect vision during the day.

Will he just drive home on Sat night to Geelong if we lose? He will be able to hear the melts from Port BogFooty miles away.

Will it be worthy of melts though?

I think we're all resigned to losing on Saturday. Grundy should have one of those ye olde Dean Cox masterclasses where you just have to make him your fantasy captain and the win's in the bag.

Any sort of competitiveness or even a win would be pure Creed (Fos, not Apollo), funnily enough.

So I get home from my run this evening and 7yo Wylde Jnr is watching the Port/West Coast replay.

Some general commentary on his favourite players, some bright eyed questions and chit chat.

Then he lays this one on me.... "Daddy?.... Why do we have excellent players but don't play excellent?"

Farken. Even he can see it.

My son, Jaydenathan (2 years old), also remarked that the Ken Hinkley re-signing was an ill fated move. Kids know this stuff.

I'm intrigued as to what your response to this fabulous line of questioning was.

Na, you can hear it in the crowd. We barely cheer anymore, our fans are constantly booing correct umpiring out of frustration, watch the replay and the main thing you hear from the crowd is constant sighs from our supporters after mistakes continue to happen. Read FB and these forums and all you see is disenchanted and heartbroken Port supporters who are continuing to watch us piss a half decent list up the wall by getting nothing but bare average performances out of them, and watching them melt whenever the pressure is turned up.
As a Port following Carlton supporter (if that makes any sense) I watch games from the Fos Williams Stand in a calm and somewhat dispassionate manner. Since 2014 the tenor of comments around me from the Port faithful have gone from excitement and expectation to anger and ridicule. Can't blame them really.

I came home after working a chunk. Pissed off with Pordeladie. my 2 year old told me to be ‘chill out and be positive’. so I knocked his block off and made my escape in his shithouse fisher price car.

Lol the Finn Barr post format. Knock the block off then escape on [insert item here]

I’m just a regular coach
With a talented squad
I’m your average guy who was given the nod
I like defence in football, and not trying to score
We’ve just got to work harder if we’re playing real poor
My wife and my job, every loss make a joke
My face on the big screen taking a sip of fake coke....

But sometimes that just ain’t enough to keep a coach like me interested
(Nah uh, no way, uh uh)
No I’ve gotta have fun at BigFooty’s expense
(Whoa, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah)
I don’t pick a forward, cause I say they aren’t ready
Just like with Butcher, or ****ing Brett Eddy!

I’m an arseh*le!
(He’s an arseh*le, what an arseh*le)
I’m an arseh*le!
(He’s an arseh*le, such an arseh*le)

I only pick a ruck if I think they can succeed
So say goodbye to Frampton, and hello to Jake Neade!

I’m an arseh*le!
(He’s an arseh*le, what an arseh*le)
I’m an arseh*le!
(He’s the world’s biggest arseh*le)

Sometimes I play players in the wrong places
Just to watch the crowd making handicapped faces

I’m an arseh*le!
(He’s an arseh*le, what an arseh*le)
I’m an arseh*le!
(He’s a real ****ing arseh*le!)

Maybe I shouldn’t be singing this song
Ranting and raving and carrying on
Maybe their right when they tell me I’m wrong...

NAHHHHHH!

I’m an arseh*le!

For those just a little down read this ams brilliant, reflective, insightful, intelligence perspective by Mr rucci. Fire up One great clib. Fire up lad. For those who are more than a smidgen, prob not much point.

Funnily enoughy, my 14 yo daughter and her friend sat next to me at the game and half the time they were looking at the wrong end, asking "is it a goal" after play had been resumed from a kick in for about 2 minutes.

One time they were excited and cheering when literally nothing was happening. Turns out they'd been watching a plastic bag floating through the air.

So you guys enjoy your smart toddlers while you can. The minute they discover Instagram or its equivalent they're gone

If they play an injured Ryder and he can’t run out the game like vs WCE Hinkley can stay in Victoria and never come back.

Having a fit ruckman to run the out last week and we would have won, give Frampton a go and let Ryder recover so he’s fit for September (should we actually get there)

What good will Ryder be if he can only play half the game like last week ?
