I loved my under 15's coach too wonderful bloke.. we won 2 games for the season.

We should sign him up, he's won as many AFL finals over the last four years as Ken has.

Daz is arguing that Hinkley is trying to improve

rogerjames is arguing that by all reports, Hinkley and Voss were sent to the US to learn how to coach good under duress and didn't want to go

rogerjames is arguing that Hinkley isn't that interested in improving and that shouldn't be a point in his favour.

Co-captains was Hinkley's idea. He backed it in and told KT he wanted it. Just another reason to piss off Hinkley.

And drop this shit about wanting the members to be brave about this decision. **** off!!

There is a fine line between courage and stupidity and I don't want to be on the stupid side of the line with you and the other losers you keep backing in.
"Be brave" is one of the phrases that shits me most out of this club. It suggests a plan grounded in extremes. Plans requiring faith, rather than logic and reason.

I want us to be smart. To male decisions requiring no bravery because we've sculpted a plan durable enough to offset any eventuality. We didn't recruit a smart coach - that was Richardson and Walsh - we recruited a gutfeel coach, an emotional coach, which is probably why "the boys love Ken".

Emotions don't win in battle. Brains do. Asking for bravery is running towards a firing enemy with no hope of success. Being smart is not landing yourself in that position in the first place.

I donā€™t think anyoneā€™s ā€˜determined itā€™s a failā€™, itā€™s more that people are tired of Koch, Ken and Keith blubbering about this and that and tā€™other year after year after year as the club stays bogged in mediocrity.

They talk about co-captains being the best route for success.

What success? They wouldnā€™t know success if it jumped up and nibbled their knackers.
This is the frustrating part. I am trying real hard to focus on the new talent, new assistant coaches and fresh 2019. But everything that comes out of Koch, Ken and KT's mouth I find condescending and treating supporters like a bunch of uneducated people who "fly as one"...regardless of our on field results. I move on from this decision but it just adds to the cluster of leadership decisions. The rationale for the decision makes no sense and just proves no one is steering the ship with any conviction

You know what folks. Sometimes trying stuff and failing gives you the biggest lessons. If Ken has learnt from what has gone wrong in recent times, then maybe, even with a slightly less talented side, we could do very well. When you add up all the changes we have made, moving three good players on, replacing a couple of assistant coaches, new game plan, and new leadership structure, we should be having a new anticipation of success feel about the place. I think that is likely the case within the club, but not on this forum. I for one, am feeling excited (and s bit nervous at the same time I admit).

And Dazzle is avoiding the question because he and his beloved coach (father?) are being exposed. Maybe the training course should have been about greyhounds.

It could just be me but I'm getting some major hubris vibes from Ken. Especially in how he chose to answer the co-captaincy questions in the lead up to the announcement. It's going to be a long 2 years (he won't last 3).
