Airport Rail is not on the agenda at all. The whole team and people were disbanded. The airport built an elevated road in the way. It also wouldn't solve any of the problems to do with population growth.Delayed due to the airport cracking the shits of what type of station they wanted.
Given that's been sorted It will kick off again soon.
We can't keep building out with urban sprawl. The only way is up.
How many built in the last 50 years? How many rural roads cost $90B?
Don't know but no doubt all were funded unlike SRL. The $2.2B Fed funding is now looking decidedly shaky and it represents a fraction of the total cost. How many built in the last 50 years?

Much better to spend the money on Western Rail Plan and road upgrades (because the vast majority of people still drive and don't work in the CBD).
Moira Deemings kid's are obviously a lot cluier than she is.
Moira Deeming’s young children began saying ‘my mum’s a Nazi’ amid rally controversy, affidavit claims
Federal court releases tranche of documents from Victorian MP’s defamation case against state Liberal leader John Pesuttowww.theguardian.com
That's just finishing stuff they were half-way through. When they start talking about the viaduct and stations, that's when they're being serious. The first bit of the Airport rail is kicking back off again.Work begins on Sunshine Station upgrades for Melbourne air rail
An investment of $63.5 million will be made in the detailed design work, which will include additional platforms, track and bridge works, and signalling improvements. Six trains per hour are expected to Melbourne Airport once the rail link is complete.australianaviation.com.au
Thought part of green urban design was to deliberately have less car spaces than apartments to encourage non car use. I have seen this promoted in some of the apartment sales brochuresMaybe but our state planning laws are appalling. No requirement to provide car parking for all apartments and apartment sizes can be ridiculously small. A block was planned opposite where we live in a tiny street with six street parking bays. The proposed block was going to be 10 storeys, 40+ apartments, with only 20 car parking bays. Luckily VCAT rejected it. But with the state stripping councils of planning veto you just wonder what will get past the keeper now.
If it gets little media coverage (or just highlight more free kicks that the state government are giving via **** up) I think the voting public might forget.Court case.
Seems to be where they are also putting a lot of ndis supported independent living. Unfortunately the local area mental health service nearest office (as many of the clients have coexisting mental health needs) is all the way in Seymour…Probably because it's not a good idea to build 15,000 homes in Beveridge and push 15,000 new commutes onto an overloaded Hume Fwy and Seymour V/Line service.
Inner suburb character? **** em.Where’s the Airport Rail
No shovels digging
Where’s the Melton Rail Electrification
Where’s the Wyndham Vale Rail Electrification
Labor lie and lie and continue to lie. Without punishment.
But it’s ok we will build the Suburban Rail Loop whilst we turn your nice suburb into a mass sprawl of 20 story ugly high rises overlooking your backyard. Worked so well for Box Hill hasn’t it … they look disgusting and ugly.
Just imagine beautiful Cheltenham with disgusting high rises, nearly walking distance from the beach mind you. Or rustic, working class Clayton - where people worked hard to have a nice functioning house, with peace. They didn’t work their backsides off to have mass sprawl over their backyards. Even Clarinda, one of Melbourne’s most unique suburbs, yep let’s turn that into a mass sprawl too.
The character of suburbs is being destroyed by Labor. The Subrubam Rail Loop only seeks to achieve this destruction. But that’s fine, keep pumping people into this state, there’s a house for all of them. Or why don’t you let people live in peace for once, nope can’t do that.
Public servants salary increases per year (%) are less than private business. Nowhere near inflation either.Another cash bonus for 54,000 public servants. When you’ve got it spend it!
Donors to the ALP who got rich construction and consultancy jobs off it especially the ones who paid for Dan's overseas junketI don't know where the so-called support for SRL is coming from. I've not spoken to one person who thinks it's a good idea and most of those people are in eastern Melbourne or professionals who work in the industry.

All the actual consultants think it's a joke and will be the death of the industry for over a decade. You won't hear it publicly because all the companies they work for don't want to spoil their chances of winning the work.Donors to the ALP who got rich construction and consultancy jobs off it especially the ones who paid for Dan's overseas junket

At industry events, it's mocked and derided. They had to pay 10% over what the other rail jobs were paying to get people to move to a project nobody wants. Even then, they only got the staff when RPV and Airport Rail were canned and all the people who couldn't get a job anywhere else went to SRLA.
Not really, that was a bit of a low, but nothing like what the industry is facing now, off the back of being repeatedly injected with steroids for a decade. The industry actually died under Bailleu napthine
Actually died not a Murdoch press fantasy
It's because Infrastructure Victoria was created for a political purpose which caused a problem for an infrastructure project devised for a political purpose. Not really, that was a bit of a low, but nothing like what the industry is facing now, off the back of being repeatedly injected with steroids for a decade.
There are people with 10 years' experience in an industry where everybody got easy gigs on mega-projects and felt v.important who are now completely oblivious to what the alternative facing them looks like.
The great irony is to look back at the invention of Infrastructure Victoria which was founded by Andrews to stop political project announcements ignoring professional advice. Then less than a decade later, they announced SRL deliberately avoiding professional advice.....

Who really cares what the Baillieu & Napthine governments did or didn't do? Labor has been in government since 2014. A decade.A bit of a low? The industry was that govts greatest critic. You are gaslighting us ol mate
Or maybe you can put up or shut up with ‘all the people I talk to’
