How much would the removal of those structures have helped Melbourne?

Now compare how the removal of the JDS would help Richmond

Chalk and cheese.
Virtually all the same arguments were being made to destroy Flinders Street. People insisted it was run down, ugly, costly to maintain/inefficient, too difficult to renovate, an impediment to progress

Why did Collingwood build an MCG sized training ground?

Why does Essendon have an MCG sized training ground?

Why did Geelong build a separate MCG sized training ground?

I’ll let your Freo Dockers answer that question actually....

“It includes a main training oval big enough to replicate every AFL ground and a GPS program that shows instantly where goal posts and markings need to go to mirror venues such as the MCG, SCG, the Gabba, Adelaide Oval and WA’s Domain Stadium.

It is modelled on the new Burswood Stadium oval with the same surface and orientation
and will have a similar perched water table under it which captures water and retains it so the ground can be watered from below.

On some grounds you have more space and some are smaller, so to be able to train in those situations leading up to games will be a big advantage,” Fremantle Dockers Foundation ambassador and star midfielder Stephen Hill told The West Australian.

Such a big advantage, Freo's slump in performance coincided perfectly with their move to Cockburn

Never seen so many strawman arguments in my life with people trying to imply we will forget Jack Dyre is we demolish the stand

Its literally un-useable and hurting the club right now we
Have departments working out of portables because we have no space for them

Didn't imply Dyer would be forgotten. Only said it was interesting to watch Richmond fans celebrate the demise of a home ground stand named after him.

No one is celebrating it, but we understand that footy clubs are in an arms race for facilities and if a condemned building that has no use right now getting demolished helps future proof the club and let’s it expand the Houli Foundation and AFLW programs it’s a necessary loss

Can you explain your plan to fit an MCG sized ground and new expanded facilities comparable to those which will be put in the new stand? Preferably with some rough sketches.

Despite being as not for profit organisation, we're not a charity. If National Trust wants it to stay, then they just need to stump up funds for restoration.
Everyone is getting very worked up in here because none of you are actually trying to solve the problem. It's bloody easy to say knock it down or keep it there, but neither of these alone solves the issue of an unusable stand, employees working out of portables, and an undersized field (desired dimensions).
How about the emotion gets parked for a second and we address ALL of the needs instead of one?

This is the first time Benny Gale has done something to piss me off.
He is the reason that we have free agency in the comp
It came into the comp when he was the players association president
That’s the only shit thing he’s done

Go underground and acquire more surrounding land.

You think Flinders station should have been demolished? Lol

Lol
Yeah that damn National Trust causing trouble again.
They should be banned from saving everything.
We're one of the richest clubs in the league and getting richer.
You think the club has the means to put a road underground when we’re already relying on government funding to develop the new facilities? Lol

I think you have a warped idea about how much money the club actually makes in profit

Last year it was less than 300k
We might be one of the best clubs in a financial sense but we aren’t exactly printing cash either

You think the club hasn’t thought of that? Lol

They’ve been planning this for years, they’ve already explored and costed all options and this is the most viable option.

And we’re already going underground.
