If anything gives you an insight into Fly's leadership style, it's this.

He encourages the players to take risks and ownership of the team's situation during the game. He helps them overcome that fear of failure which has choked the club so often in the past.

If this is a taste of what's to come he has a magnificent future as a senior coach.

Ginni (along with Beau) are lucky to start their careers with Fly at the helm.
Fly is all about what my parents were about.

In one word . . . Excelsior!

Everyday and in every way strive to be better than you were yesterday.

I agree.
In the past the mantra was minimise risk, now it's go for broke.
It yet another element that's contributed to us winning all those close games.
The sheer audacity of the plays that won us the games against Essendon & Carlton is breathtaking & exciting.
We wouldn't have even tried them under Bucks.

It’s a stark contrast to how we played under Buckley, where you could just tell that players were so scared of messing up that they’d always take the safe ‘team’ options rather than giving themselves the responsibility of creating opportunities through plays that had risk attached to them.

Great strengths can be great weaknesses. His never satisfied perfectionism made him one of the greatest ever Pies, but was probably stifling as a coach.

You need to look a little bit further back.

Look back to his relationship with his father - his father was one of those 'pushy parent' types and if you imagine perfectionist describes Bucks then his old man was perfectionism cubed.

Without really knowing, watching us play i think you are right Sav.
Interesting if Jack would have flourished this year as he has under the new coach versus the previous, again, we will never know but you suspect he wouldnt have.
Another topical player, Bruzzy, was roundly belted in his early days, clangers resulting in oppo goals were too frequent and brain fades almost weekly. I think the stubborness in the old coach gifted Bruzz games early, just kept playing him and without doubt helped him become the star he is today.

Can work both ways, the great coaches can, in a sense coach them as individuals, embraces their skills and differences and get more great outcomes that a my way or the highway approach.

Rookie of the Year.

For context, Jayden Stephenson won the 2018 rising star after kicking 34 goals in the H&A season.

Ginni has kicked 36 goals in the 2022 H&A season.

I have seen the photo.

He’s sent a Snapchat to a girl. Who’s taken a photo of it and it’s going through social media.

It’s not a nude photo or relieving. It’s just not something he would want out there
