To be fair he was playing well before covid, not enough for a callRemember all those ppl predicting him to be in the AFL round 1?
Up. He’s def dropped off a cliff since he was sick. Whether he’s lost fitness who knows. Long way off it atm

Fly trying his best to keep Jack's spirits/confidence up.Saw fly chatting to Jack at 3 QT. He was happy with the pressure he was applying.
Good signs.

Think Jack will be spending a lot of time in the VFL from what I saw.
Agree. If Jack was switched on he would have seen that Hill is healthy competition. He would have buckled down and had a big pre-season.For all the chatter, it's obvious the coaching staff don't rate Jack as a best 22 player this year, which is a concern for a 3rd year player. I assume he's contracted for next year, so will get more chances but has to improve his contested work and defensive efforts to make it.
Agree although he was below standard today of what is expected. They paid him a lot of physical attention off the ball, not Nick Daicos extent, but were told to pay him close attention. Saw them try to rough him up a few times.
I know the kid who was on him ( good match up, similar heights and ages, had a chat to him post game), he had a few different opponents throughout the game he said.
Hopefully he builds on this and gets on the scoreboard a little more v frankston. Did a lot of nice pressure things.
Probably because we have high expectations lolAgree although he was below standard today of what is expected.
Yeah probably. I'm in the group that says good players play poorly in the VFL regularly.Probably because we have high expectations lol
Nah. JDG would tear the VFL to shreds. Tom Mitchell would have 50 possession games. Pendles would run rings around them and stand out like dogs balls, etc...Yeah probably. I'm in the group that says good players play poorly in the VFL regularly.
Put DeGoey in there and he won't be the same player without stars helping him out.
Unless you are a top 1 or 2 VFL side.
Even then
The ball movement is vastly different in VFL, and not a happy hunting ground for forwards.Yeah probably. I'm in the group that says good players play poorly in the VFL regularly.

I'd bet that Pendles would stand out and still get less possessions than in a AFL game.Nah. JDG would tear the VFL to shreds. Tom Mitchell would have 50 possession games. Pendles would run rings around them and stand out like dogs balls, etc...
Did you watch it today? In McCartin, they had an AFL level player and he was well above everyone else on the ground.I'd bet that Pendles would stand out and still get less possessions than in a AFL game.
Same as any star without the help from great teammates.
Bucks played 1 game in the seconds - 3 Liston Trophy Votes. Its all about the attitude of the player, which is a bit of a worry with Ginny at the moment.Nah. JDG would tear the VFL to shreds. No, but lets hope its just his "second" year blues. He's focus in the off-season needs to be to get fitter and raring to go day 1 of pre-season. Still young so he has time.. I'd be very interested to know what the long term plan is for him, is it purely as a forward, or do they want to add some midfield craft into him? Next pre-season or the following will be interesting.Ginnivan wouldn't be the first career to race out of the blocks as he did only to fade away.

You know my love for Ginni, but surely he’s a pure forward? His deficiencies (as well documented on here…) would at face value make it difficult for him to succeed in another position. His best footy is close to the goals.
I know. He is a pure forward, I just wonder whether the coaches think if he works on his weaknesses he can add uo to play further up the ground. I do he is best suited to I50 though. But he has qualities that can suit further up the field. He's not a finished product by a mile, so it'll be a watch to see what they do with himYou know my love for Ginni, but surely he’s a pure forward? Bog... best on ground average sounds not to badHe was bog average lets be honest.
I think it is more about finding some touch and building confidence, while we trial a couple of things. I didn’t get the impression that it was for a punishment. We will see, if true, more to the story
I hope not though
Like what we did with Mason early last year.I think it is more about finding some touch and building confidence, while we trial a couple of things. I didn’t get the impression that it was for a punishment.
