Worked at the Tunnel nightclub in the 80's. If people are struggling to handle Ginnivan's alleged indiscretion, they'd be having kittens if they knew what footy players got up to back then.
GW and Ned Kelly are both well versed with what happened in the late 80s and early 90s

I think in the AFL there is a pecking order. You can be a cowboy off field but need to be Buddy/Swanny, Wayne Carey or Dusty like in ability to get away with it.

Clubs will remain supportive more often than not as long as they see potential in the player and there’s some level of remorse.

Leigh Matthews views on this last week just made it simple. Why has the game evolved where we make it much easier for the tackler, and harder for the player with the ball. The stupid interpretation of one of the fundamental rule of the game has made umpires jobs impossible and prone to error, which I believe Ginnivan has been the victim here.

Regardless of where the tackle starts, or if the player buckles his knees at the time of the tackle or any other stupid interpretation, if the tackle goes above the shoulder anytime, its a free kick to the player with the ball. Simple, clear cut, and black and white (excuse the pun)

Now of course players will try and draw free kicks - but so what. If the tackle goes above the shoulder its a free kick. We need to make it harder for the tackler, not the guy with the ball
I agree. Need to protect the player making the play. Tackler needs to earn a turnover

A game in the vfl won't do him any harm. Has been out of form for a bit, low on confidence, so hopefully should help with that.
And looks like they are training him to play higher up the ground, and more around stoppages. Maybe this is a way to experiment that. A way to get him involved more.

Looking forward how he goes tomorrow. Hopefully kicks a couple.

Will help for sure.
Apparently been told he will have a month in the VFL
Aligns with what I've heard/read. Professionalism is a key area of growth for Jack and there's only so long he can keep using the "I'm young" card. He's well-liked at the club, no question about that, but does like to party (as they all do).

Not disputing the validity of him spending time in VFL to improve aspects of his game or professionalism, but are people able to post how they heard/read this?

Even if it's an article you read online or whispers you've heard from someone in the know etc. Would be nice to have some context.

i didn’t take it that it was for punishment.

We will see, if true, more to the story

I hope not though

There’s no story. He needs to work on his game and perhaps a different position. The main reason he’s not best 22 is Bobby Hill.

Kreuger was given the same “ month in the VFL “ story. It’s working a treat because he can build his confidence slowly knowing he doesn’t have to showboat to get picked next week.

Good. The thing he needs to work on is his passing to teammates. It's sloppy. He doesn't wheel around - just does one step round the body stuff.

He's no midfielder I think. Forward goal sneak only.

He seems to play worse in the VFL and hasn't appeared to have a great attitude at this level. It could do him a lot of harm if he struggles to get his form back even at VFL level and sulks it up.

Allan has been pretty poor since he got covid TBH, people talking him up way too much.
Since covid he got the coaches points for best at Collingwood in one game.
Also a 17 disposal game after that.
Problem is we have midfielders and also wing doing OK.
He will get his chance eventually and with better players around him.
