I'm the drinking, gambling, enabling cool uncle your parents don't want you to go near.I will allow for that, as my anti-gambling bias is strong.
Wrighty <> Ned.
I can't say I'm happy that the club is comfy with players going to the races the night before the GF. Using gouki88 's wisdom I'm clearly more "dad" than I am "cool uncle".
I will assume you're a "cool uncle" (unless I receive evidence to the contrary).
EDIT: I forgot to add the most important point: I hope Ginni slays it on the field next year.

Be careful, they are known liars! There are a couple of fine posters on this board who could confirm/deny the "cool" part of your assertion.
I don’t think he’ll be prioritised next season unless his preseason is exemplary.
Except NaicosCan say the same for all the kids pushing to lock away a spot in the seniors. Interesting preseason coming up.
Except Naicos
Collingwood star Jack Ginnivan has returned to the scene of his unusual grand final eve build-up.
The racing and punting enthusiast dropped into Moonee Valley on Friday night before winning a premiership on Saturday.
The move he described as “pretty harmless” has paid dividends, as he’s now become an ambassador for the Ladbrokes Cox Plate Eve race meet on Friday October 27.
“I was there from race three til race eight so about two and a half hours,’’ Ginnivan, 20, said.

“I was out in the public for a bit and then was lucky enough to get in a box. I saw two of the best horses going around, Imperatriz and Amelia’s Jewel, and was just with two mates.
“That was the main thing, I didn’t want to keep playing the game over and over in my head. I was having dinner in Brunswick anyway so just thought I’d pop in.
“It was pretty harmless. In race 5 I backed the winner and got a few seconds.
“It’s always good to get to The Valley under lights.”
Ginnivan stepped onto the track on Wednesday to celebrate his new role and pick up more shiny silverware — the Cox Plate.
In a nod to his horse racing antics the playmaker rocked up to the Magpies’ Mad Monday celebrations in jockey silks, which he borrowed off leading hoop Craig Williams.
“It was a bit of a shout-out to Craig and they’re still in one piece, which is great,’’ he said.
“It’s a hobby of mine, I love the races and I’m a part owner of a horse which hasn’t run yet.
“I really like Mr Brightside, I’m looking forward to following the horse more.”
Problem for me is he did it before a grand final, by now he should know what the response would be. Macrae questioning as well. The valley is quite chill. I used to work there for a number of years. The Cox Plate carnival can be hectic of course, but its enjoyable place to be.
He'll have to be careful though, when idiots start drinking they can be a menance, so hopefully he isn't out with the public too much.
Think this is the key. He wanted to get outside his head. Let kids enjoy things they enjoy.Problem for me is he did it before a grand final, by now he should know what the response would be. Macrae questioning as well.
I feel like he has a bit of currency, if we can extract a first round pick for him I’d take it. We have a surplus of small forwards, would be good redistribute some talent to either the midfield or key posts.
Agree! But there are other ways to do it before the grand final, it could have really blown up on him.Think this is the key. He wanted to get outside his head. Let kids enjoy things they enjoy.
We're not gonna trade someone just because he went to the races lol

it could have, but didn't. He will be just fine. Kids his age just learning the ways of the world and professionlism. Maybe if he had his time again, he would choose not to go. But no harm done.Agree! But there are other ways to do it before the grand final, it could have really blown up on him.
Not saying I’m trading him for that, I think we can make him into a great player…more that we are loaded with small forwards and I think he has the greatest trade value to improve the list elsewhere.
We still need to improve our list…trade out where we have surplus to bolster areas of relative weakness.it could have, but didn't. He will be just fine. Kids his age just learning the ways of the world and professionlism. Maybe if he had his time again, he would choose not to go. But no harm done.
Yes, thats why you delist your bottom players, not your young talented kids.We still need to improve our list…trade out where we have surplus to bolster areas of relative weakness.
That will happen as well, but we need capital to bring in players either via trade or draft. If we got a first round pick that helped us acquire a gun midfielder or key position back we’d be better off. We have too many quality small forwards at the moment.Yes, thats why you delist your bottom players, not your young talented kids.
He's not being traded. Its not on the clubs or his agenda. He's focusing on pre-season to get fitter and working on his game to add some midfield. That will happen as well, but we need capital to bring in players either via trade or draft. The parents are ok about the gambling drinking and enabling. The lechery on the other hand...I'm the drinking, gambling, enabling cool uncle your parents don't want you to go near.
No chance of being traded. Let the kid play! He will be better next year watching Bobbie win a Norm Smith. He's not being traded. Its not on the clubs or his agenda. He's focusing on pre-season to get fitter and working on his game to add some midfield.
I was still travelling at 20 lolNo chance of being traded. Let the kid play! He will be better next year watching Bobbie win a Norm Smith.
He will internalize that might be him next year. Do the hard yards. He's a kid ....
I'm 56 and still learning about who I am.
Thank heavens social media wasn't around when I was 20. Love to all ❤
So was I. Wandering around Europe with a backpack. The Berlin Wall had just come down circa 1990 and I was in Prague drinking piss.I was still travelling at 20 lol
Both Jack and Bobby have two of the most precious medals in the league. Anzac + Norm Smith along with premiership medals.
Jack needs to experience life before he grows up, and he's currently going through that, as fly said.
Thats his plan. Onwards and upwards Ginni. So was I. Wandering around Europe with a backpack. The Berlin Wall had just come down circa 1990 and I was in Prague drinking piss.
Hoping Jack has a big preseason.
I think several of our small forwards (McCreery and Hill in particular) are destined to move further away from goal as they developProblem for me is he did it before a grand final, by now he should know what the response would be. Macrae questioning as well.
