Melbourne were originally linked to him

Not sure about how we could facilitate a trade though
Nothing would be serious until he has done a medical and since you guys are still live in the finals that wouldn't have happened yet. You would want him to play at a level close to his 2020 so will need the reassurance. But if Birchall and Smith are examples we rehab players really well, we seem to keep them out for around 6 months longer then other teams do.

Lions may have just found some available dollars.
Surely the logical play for the Lions would be to target Parker as a FA with those $$ and then hit the draft hard with whatever you get for Neale?

Yeah it certainly isn't something I think will or should happen. I just know there has been a link made before and then dismissed as it would be unlikely we had any space in the cap. If Gunston came to the Lions he could play as a tall forward and if positions got tight when Hipwood returns he can always play across half back or wing.

I'm pretty comfortable with losing Neale even if we don't replace him with a traded player. There is a pretty popular train of thought that says this might force a more dynamic midfield mix for us next year. I think we have the cattle already as a club. Taking three 1st rounders to the draft and possibly improving our position for next year is a fairly good situation to be in.

Gunston is perfect for Carlton.

Would be a good fit at Dogs or Cats aswell.

I'm assuming he would want to stay in VIC and probably go to a contender.

Lipinski will end up at Hawthorn

Just the player they need to build tall running player who has upside.
Could see Gunston joint his best mate at the bulldogs but will be more 2022 picks
Not so sure about that.

I mean we would take him if he was a cheap trade but i cant see that happening hawthorn would want a late 1st and with the injury he has had i cant see us offering that.

Would love him in an intercept role off the HBF

Dogs have like 8 HBFs I would have thought he be much more valuable in the Forward line.

Yeah not sure why we want a fringe mid who isn't any better than what we have

The success rate of getting a fringe player from a top side to be a good player isn't great. They are fringe players for a reason

Be a great fit for bombers alongside Jones and wright. What is he actually worth - pick 20 to 30 next years second?

Worth a bit more but 30 and injured.

Or alternatively how long do the Hawks think he has left and expected output returns next year - 30 goals?

Probably worth that to other teams but worth significantly more to us, I really hope we just keep him.

Sam wants him to stick around and mentor Kosi, Mitch and Jeka. I doubt we accept anything unless it's well over what a guy his age with a back injury would usually garner.

Thank God for that. Thanks Dom 👍👍👍
I am a shit reader of sarcasm so i have 0 idea here.

But nonetheless, you'd have to think with a player who can play so many positions (TOB) with his ability as a defender, forward, ruck (not really Gunston) and Gunston who can play fwd as a tall or medium/small crumber, defender, wing and even in that Saints game as a mid haha. Just think that and the fact he's a gun, we won't get what we want for him and we need elite and veteran forwards to teach our young ones. Just makes sense.
