Speculation Jack Lukosius [RFA 2026]

Imagine offering a top 10 pick for Harrison Petty and thinking Lukosius is worth a pick in the late 20s…
Didn't happen.

He is a life long Crows fan. His family are as well.
His family is in Adelaide.
Hs good mate Izak did the same thing and will be in his ear.
Adelaide has kept in touch with him since he was drafted and has tried to get him before.
But sure, he's going to North or Geelong.

Cameron has nothing to do with this, as he was a country guy who wouldn't be going home regardless of where he moved to.
He also bought a $1.3m beachside house in Adelaide.

This is what Gold Coast stuffed up as well. Rankine and Lukosius to the same school.

But it's Rozee and Luko that were good mates. If they wanted to draft the South Aussies to stick together it was Rozee and Lukosius they needed to take.

But it was Rankine that was the higher rated one.

Boyd Woodcock was actually Luko's best mate..still is.

That's not going to work for the Crows.

Perhaps 4 and F2 for 6 and Luko?

That's probably the only way 4 can be involved.

Or perhaps F1 for Luko and 20?

Now they've made clear they consider him VFL level talent and that he's not in Hardwick's future plans, they've tanked his value.

Hes not vfl talent they are giving him a rocket.

Dimma spoke about him in the presser.
Jack wanted to play vfl, but Dimma was like.. lets just take a breather and reset. He spoke well about it, and was very strong on his future. He just is finding how to best utilise his talents.

Good players go through rough patches, this is just Jack's. He'll keep improving his game and will be back in the team.

Have it on very good authority that Rankine and Lukosius never really got along in school due to certain things, whether that's changed I don't know.

I am at a bit of a loss with this one.

Jack is a mediocre forward at AFL level. He's not quick enough or big enough, he doesn't work anywhere near hard enough, and despite his major asset being his disposal, he is a very poor kick for goal.

Put him at half back or on a wing and you've got someone with an absolute weapon. A genuinely transformative player; arguably the best field kick in the game.

It's a major asset and it's going to waste.

If they're not playing him in the back half then they should move him on, but he can no longer be valued as the prodigious kid he once was. He's a 24 year old who now 6 years into his career, has achieved very little.

Of course, he's still contracted so the Suns will dictate the price, but if they do want him out it's a tricky situation. I'll be stunned if there's a first round pick in any exchange unless there's more coming back the other way alongside Jack.

Needs to play as a high forward/ marking wingman role and use his skills kicking inside 50 imo

Probably needs to work a bit harder to get the best out of that role though

He seems lost at the moment at GC - a change of environment could release the talent he has as he should be exceptional

Pretty long rough patch...

Exactly. They never offered the pick nor entertained trading for Scott. Adelaide was the only one interested.
If Adelaide show no interest in Jack, then yeah, he may end up somewhere else. But, if the club wants him, offers the same money as everyone else, he goes to Adelaide.

you're putting the cart before the horse here

Not really. The statement that if all things are equal, a player would prefer to play for the team them and their family barracked for isnt a crazy thing.
Did you think Izak was ever going to come back to SA to play for Power if the Crows were offering exactly what they were?
Do you think we are going to have an easier time keeping Thilthorpe as an SA born and bred Crows lover, or a harder time?
