Doubt Saints would get anymore than Steele for next years second, so the only way we get someone else from GWS is by giving up our first rounder next year. Would want to be a handy player.

If a deal could be reached with GWS for Pickett or someone of the accord and Steele i think St Kilda would be open to trading their 2017 1st rounder. Not sure how highly rated either Pickett or Ahern is with GWS fans? the pair are tremendously talented but given their lack of games are the expendable? Likely just going to get Steele but i could see the saints inquiring about all that speedy talent

Ahern has just done his knee for the second time so can rule him out . Pickett coming back from a knee reco is an interesting one. Originally pick 4 from memory and obviously highly talented. Might be a great get if he can get up and running

If health permitting i think he can be a huge X factor in any side. Clean with the ball and lighting quick
Caught Pickett in the NAB game in Canberra this year, when they played the Dogs at Manuka. For a bloke who I recall being quite slight of frame when he was drafted, he looked to have put on a lot of muscle, very nuggety. Still looked to have great pace and skill though, would be interested if the rapid increase in weight had anything to do with him doing his knee. I like him very much as a player, hope he can live up to his draft spot.
Pickett didn't do his knee, did the Linsfranc in his foot, as Swan did (but presumably not as badly).
Talk around of him touring carlton's facilities tomorrow which seems strange if a deal is already done with the saints.

Actually bout an hour and a half, but that doesnt include in airport time which adds up. Then getting out to where its held. M4 is a bitch in the arvo.
Seems strange though when you have an entire week to go and do it but then do it on the day of your b&f making you rush around.

Best mates with Logan Austin, was in the port rooms at the Collingwood game (Austins first game) id be surprised if port when on the the non-victorian clubs talking to him.
Apparently Steele was shattered that Austin didn't end up at the giants with him. So the prospect of playing together would be very appealing one would think.
