The contract isn't a huge amount at all. Would suggest the move has more to do with opportunity than cash.

Although I think he could be worth more, something in the mid 20's .

Unless Giants want a do a deal upgrading one of their firsts, but more would have to be involved for that to happen.
Anyway, great get from the Saints, rapt we've got the guy we were chasing. Another big bodied mid to go with Acres and Ross and now we can just take the best mid available at pick 10 without having to worry about his size.
Think he's got the potential to end up an absolute gun with his size and skills.

He looks a long term mid so he's a good get for a mid 20s pick.

Our inside brigade batted about 3 deep last year and 4 deep this year, but could go a lot deeper next year if we have all of Steven, Armo, Ross, Dunstan, Acres, Steele and Gresham going through there regularly.

You don't need to overpay with picks or contract value for uncontracted blokes.
Also that average wage is widely skewed by the huge contracts of superstar players like travis cloke on a million a year.
If a suburb has 2 houses, one worth a million and one worth a dollar, the average house price is 500k.
Is that a true reflection of actual values?
Steele is more of an inside-contested mid than most you mentioned as well. Not say he is as good, but he is a very contested player. Has a potentially great inside game.
