The saints fans bagging Bevo are hilarious when they’re the team stuck with Ross Lyon after Bevo declined their offer.
To be accurate, we had offered Bevo the Head of Footy role when Spotty Richo was coach.

Ross was locked in as soon as the infamous Lindsay Fox yacht cruise had docked.

Bevo was never in the plans.

I don't think we'd have to go back too far to read plenty of Dogs' fans bagging the absolute bejesus out of Bevo BTW.

Why are the Dogs keen to let him go ?

Age profile ?
Skills and economics I would imagine.

As I see it the Dogs have a surplus of Mids of Macrae's type and Bevo for whatever reason has decided he's behind Libba, Treloar, Richards in the pecking order even though he's almost certainly still in the best 18 players in the club. So if he plays, it's out of his best position which means he's a marginal selection each week unless other mids are injured. And then his salary is probably in the top half dozen players in the club. Can't be paying a guy on the fringe of the team big dollars.

Plus he sees the writing on the wall (per above) and has asked to leave I think?

Makes sense. Given his age look for a contract to 2028 and get an extra year.

But an extra year at the Saints. Could be painful.

27+47 for Macrae+35?
Split the middle of what both clubs want?

ST KILDA and Brisbane have initiated a pick swap that could unlock a move for Jack Macrae to get to the Saints.

The Saints have landed picks 32 and 45 from the Lions in exchange for their second-round pick, which is currently No.27.

Pick 32 could now be used in a potential trade for Macrae, who is contracted for three more years at the Western Bulldogs, but requested a move to St Kilda last month.

true for 2025 hence the qualifier 'this trade period', but neither the Saints nor the Bulldogs want that 3rd year (2027) on their books.
