And a problem gambler. Not hard to connect the dots and wonder whether Beams has influenced others at Collingwood to bet more.

**** it lets blame it on Beams for the fun of it.

I dont think the insider knowledge part would have anything to do with the severity between the two cases.

Both are bets that would impact how each player plays the game. 1 would be trying to get it to Maxwell, the other would be to feed a player possessions.

Both are equally stupid

So lets get this right, are we saying that Shaw got a whole lot more because he had inside knowledge of the team line up and that Stephenson will not get anything like that because he could not possibly so devious?

Nick Maxwell is a defender. Him starting forward happened a few times in his career, so that’s a massive leg up for a high priced first goal scorer bet.

Pendles ratcheting up 30+ touches has happened so frequently over his career it’s not a statistical anomaly to bet on it.

Sure, he could look for him but it’s Pendlebury, everyone looks for him.

I don’t think it’ll play a part in the punishment handed out, but Heater’s bet looked worse imo. Both beyond stupid though.

Didnt this happen a few years back with BOCK playing for the Suns, was listed at $151 for FGS but was listed at CHB, but was placed at CHF at the first bounce. Actually had the first shot on goal too, but kicked a point.

Correct... the corporate bookies then had a sook to the AFL who in turn introduced a rule that the maximum odds for this market cannot exceed $41... the corporates are happy to utilise inside info for their own benefit but heaven forbid the shoe be on the other foot!

They should offer him either 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 10 weeks, $50k or no penalty and put it on a wheel and spin it

If it comes up a loser they should offer a bonus bet of the original amount, up to $50

Mate, if that was the bet (Pendles to get 30) and hes giving the ball to Pendles, he's looking at a life ban.

Due to his age itll be a year out with a hefty suspension hanging over his head.

Let's not over react here, he wasn't abusing an umpire.
