Chucking him on the wing was a desperate measure to get him involved in the play and also to learn some valuable lessons about what’s required to succeed.

Chucking him onto a wing was as much about assessing if the pre-draft projection he could move into the midfield had any basis in reality at senior level as it was about getting him involved for more than a few minutes. May have been too early but given his form forward and that JDG had taken his goal square role it was worth a look.

Far too soft for midfield unless they had him in pure outside role. Wing was the only center field position they could try him in.

Played as an inside mid in his draft year but I'd have thought the wing was his ideal position in a midfield rotation.

This "he's soft", "doesn't like contact" stuff is so childish. He's 21 years old and skinny as fug. What do we expect? He will grow into it, as a lot of players do.

Coming into this season, he had played 40 career games for 62 goals 37 behinds. The kid is a menace.

He is the biggest talent we've drafted since Pendlebury. The chances that we draft a player anywhere near as good with the rubbish we got back for him are..well, we just won't.

Trading him was beyond stupid. Sets us back for the now and the future.

Yep. I’m still trying to understand what’s wrong with playing as a forward and kicking goals. Does everyone have to be a midfielder now?

Especially when you're at a club that is terrible at kicking goals. Our second best forward after Jordy, daylight to third, and he's 21.

North fans must be pinching themselves.

It's like being a kid going to the milkbar, handing over $3 for a chocolate bar and being given a brand new PlayStation.

Then the milkbar owner, when criticized, tries to tell everyone he's the one that got the good deal.

Was he softer this year than in the previous two years? It's really hard to get your head around how he can fall from grace.. (I was reading some of the stuff on the 'What to do with Stephenson' thread & you'd think that they were talking about a different player...)

Who knows what he'll do in the future.. but, as a North supporter I'm rapt to have him.

It was certainly a bad trade but he was also softer then warm butter on a 40*C day...

Definitely worth a look although no learnings came of it. He looked terrible to be frank. Not that he can’t make the grade there, but North have recruited a forward and maybe they’d be better off getting him to prove himself in a position he can actually play.

We’ve given you a massive gift.

We passed on the rubbish to the Bulldogs along with Treloar...

Good luck to North if they are gonna play Jaidyn as a midfielder. Didn't like contact when playing in forward line aren't gonna like it too much in the middle.

If you listen to our list management team when discussing Jaidyn, they clearly see him as a forward in the short term.

Given his outstanding form as a wing/mid in his u18 year, they are optimistic that if he puts on size and improves his engine, he could replicate that as a midfielder at AFL level.

There is absolutely no rush for him to move up the ground and if he stays a forward, the club won’t be too disappointed.

Yeah, I get that's why they did it. But he didn't get much time there at all. Some were sent straight in -- T. Brown -- then again others weren't given any time at all.

Your club won’t be disappointed at all. He’s a jet and will make Collingwood look like fools. Which of course we are.

Given his preposterous pace I'd leave him as a forward. Would create a real 3-headed monster with Larkey and Logan McDonald (if he's your guy).

3-Way Tag Team of Stephenson, Holland’s and Tarryn Thomas would be pretty handy also.
