Pick 18 and Anderson?

Good luck Hawks hope ypu get him that cheap but Dodoro will want 2 years of your first rounders, Billy Hartung and a swap of Goddard for Rioli.

Mediation almost always goes in favour of the club getting the out of contract player

There have been four cases of mediation since the AFL introduced it in 2007.

2008: Fremantle & Carlton over Warnock (called by Warnock's manager). Carlton offered pick 24, ended up offering 24, 56 and 73 for Warnock & 69.

2009: Hawthorn & Port Adelaide over Burgoyne (Called by Burgoyne's manager). Port originally were offered Pick 9 and one of a number of Hawthorn players (chose Campbell Brown who knocked them back). Ended up with 9, 16 and Jay Nash, giving up pick 24.

2011: Essendon & Gold Coast over Caddy (called by Essendon). Essendon offered Hooker & pick 19. Gold Coast wanted pick 19 and Hurley. Trade not done. Gold Coast accepted pick 20 and 55 for Caddy one year later.

2014: Essendon & Port Adelaide over Ryder (called by Essendon). Port offered pick 17. After mediation added pick 37.

So of the three trades that were completed, all involved the club losing the player getting more than was originally offered.

Hawks, North, Essendon trying to get the deal done. Carlsile to Hawks, Anderson to North, I guess picks to Essendon.

Enjoy pick 5 Saints!!! You will be taking a tall to early with that pick and that what you need. BWHAHAHAHAHA!

If it plays out we'll be taking a mid.
We can get through 2016, 2017 with what we have.

has me stumped unless North have lost it and are giving there first for Anderson ?
North know they have this year to win one or they're ****ed for a decade.

Hence all the top ups with Higgens, del Santo etc. This would make perfect sense. What's the point in recruiting another late round draftee, like they have so often? They are all in on a premiership right now.

Brad Scott knows the only way he keeps his job is a flag. No long-term thinking at North right now

If we dont get Carlisle what do we lose?

We can look at KPP options in the draft and keep building slowly. Carlsile is a shortcut back to the finals if we can get him cheap we will, if not we stick to the long road.

All the Essendon fans seem to rate the word of Buckanara. Well he has a KPD in Collins at #3 in his draft rankings. Every chance Collins is there at 5 so if we miss Carlisle we can still get the 3rd best player in the draft at #5 and build him from scratch.

Either way, we still come out better than we were going in. Essendon on the other hand lose a top end KPP for nothing.

Essendon are losing Carslile one way or another, we will either get something fair or get nothing at all. Saints either get a 8 to 10 year kpp player that wants to play for them, fills a glaring hole & immediately improves their team or they go back to the chook lotto that is drafting & hope they make the right call with one of the next few big men they bring to the club, I mean after all theyre only worth 2nd rounders at best, right?:drunk:

Nothing to lose? lol, nah she's all sweet if this doesn't go your way, the next potential Rance/Hooker/Carslile is just waiting to walk through your door...

Seriously, with (rumoured) trade offers from four clubs that meet or exceed pick 5 in value, does anyone genuinely think Essendon is the hard to deal with one here?

Think what you want about their history; but it's St Kilda being complete dicks here.

North know they have this year to win one or they're stuffed for a decade.

that is why, if true they will give there first pick for a untried second rounder at best in Anderson makes no sense.....they have just been bent over in that deal to help make hawks stronger....it makes literally no sense!

because he's a highly rated player who can play day one, unlike another Garner, McKenzie etc

What deals exceed pick 5?

These are all rumoured of course but:

Pick 3 from Gold Coast
Pick 7 and 8 from GWS
Pick 15 and 18 from Hawthorn
Pick 12 and future second from Richmond

All equal to or greater in value IMO.

Carlisle will have to take a pay cut. Clarkson trying to get in contact with Carlisle now but he is overseas. Traderadio said he would be mad not to!

North win by getting Anderson
Hawks win by getting Carlisle
Bombers win by getting five 1st round picks.
