Well done Bull!!!

Here's a picture from the SANFL on the weekend showing how good he is at blanketing an opponent

It may be in Melbourne's interest to remove the red from their guernsey this week... ;)

Deserves his shot. Shame you blokes didn't take him FS.

Well - He was not highly rated Prospect.

Though he did play 2-3 VFL Games for us in his Draft Year and I was surprised we did not Rookie Him but we had no Live Rookie Picks

I was impressed with the Bull during the NAB series, got the job done a few wayward kicks no doubt getting used to the pace but confident he wont let us down. Won some really good one on ones and is very strong in the contest. Hopefully the start of a long and successful career.

Just got this in an email:

'Bull' to debut
Promoted rookie Jake Kelly will make his AFL debut at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, while Scott Thompson has been recalled to play his first game of the season.

All Australian defender Brodie Smith, who was concussed against Collingwood last weekend, has also been included in the team to play Melbourne.

Good for him. He is a hard at it, somewhat reckless (in a good way) defender.
Hopefully if he gets a game he kicks arse.
On a side note, how does upgrading a rookie effect the salery cap? I think the rookie wage is about 50k a year, but if they are upgraded and play they get more money. So if a team was at 100% of their cap and due to injuries they had to upgrade a couple of rookies, would that extra put them over the cap or do they only have to count the initial rookie wage?

The money paid to the player on the LTI list is outside the cap whilst on the LTI.

Yer I had similar thoughts, was a bit tentative at the start but then got right into it. Also, looked pretty tall too, listed at 189 which isnt short but looked mid 190's to me (admittedly on crappy stream)

I asked Knightmare about ROB in the ROB thread. I also asked him to provide his thoughts on Kelly if he could.

He posted of Kelly:

"Kelly has progressed well since joining Adelaide and his progress is a credit to his work ethic. He has always been an excellent endurance runner and has a hard edge to him so to see him get a senior game in an Adelaide side that looks top 4 to me this season, that's really impressive. His footskills as a junior were a relative issue, but if he can use it efficiently and clean that up, then he has a shot at being a long term player whether that be down back or through the midfield."
