Who stays: Nicks, Hamish, Kelly, Roo

Who should still be in their job at the club next year?

Can’t be for that, if Silvers is conducting a review he needs to be here and Reid being the subordinate gets his arse over here if it has to be done in person.

Or the review could be done already, doesn’t take long to tell everyone they are awesome.
My wife gives me that review everyday

No.1 - Roo. Should have been gone in the 2019 cleanout. He is a cancer at the club.

No.2 - Hamish/Reid. No developing ruck on the list, high risk first rounders, building a midfield with 2nd and 3rd rounders, taking a KPD with pick 6. Lucky they dodged Petty, Oliver and now Yeo. Completely destroyed the club and could have destroyed it further, we were competitive due to Walker kicking 70 and forcefeeding Dawson. Don't underestimate how lucky we are that Dawson was OOC. As said before, 0 players we've drafted on the list in the last 7-8 years have turned into stars. 0.

No.3 - Kelly. West Coast went Downhill when VB took over their midfield from Mitchell. What is VB going to teach Yeo and Shuey? lol. Godden was part of the problem when he was midfield coach, why is he still at the club? Football departement sucks.

No. 4 - Silvers. Head in the sand, disconnected from supporters, speaking to us like Trigg did. Nicks extension timing was incredibly dumb. Interview with Rowey was all excuses and bullshit PR answers. Guaranteed Nicks job before a review, lol?

No. 5 - Nicks. As soon as a few injuries came (Walker, Rankine, Crouch, Dawson sore) we lose to 1-10 Richmond at home with 15 injuries. Our best players have been covering his arse for years. His selections are baffeling, youth development is way behind schedule. They way he spoke to Brad Crouch was disgraceful in that Amazon special.

This I found a good read about the results of the Richmond internal review, would love the results to be this thorough

I'm not a regular on this board, nor do I live in Adelaide and have grown up in QLD, my whole life barr my first three years. But having visited Adelaide 20+ times, and with the majority of both sides of my family from SA and Adelaide predominantly. It absolutely reeks down there of an SA thing. An issue that is so blatantly obvious, that has a clear problem which should be addressed properly, yet because "this the way we do things" nothing happens.

Great find.

Someone needs to send it to AFC!

Imagine that... A club honest with their supporters, transparent, clear, open and showing true accountability.

We can only dream of having even some of this with the AFC. :embarrassedv1:

Caro says there will be list management and assistant coach changes but Nicks survives.

Clearly Nicks is only surviving because the ****heads gave him an extension. Hopefully we continue to lose with players returning and they can’t hide behind the injury excuse.

Silvers is just as horrendous as this lot… “just a bad couple of weeks”, “injuries… we’ll be fine with all our players back”, “Ricciuto’s a fountain of knowledge for myself and the football club” 😂😂😂😂💀💀💀
Yep. Replace ‘knowledge’ with ‘influence’…

Seeing Port today and now the discussion on super Saturday...maybe it is an Adelaide thing...

Have your read our constitution?

Everyone here should, it should anger everyone of our members and fans.

It is an appalling governance structure.

Why?

Critique away

Is there an absence of oversight
Are unsuited trustees without competence appointed?
Are the delegations of authority inappropriate or unclear?
Does the board fail to hold the executive to account?
Separation of duties properly outlined?
The governance document out of date?
committee terms of reference not reviewed or appropriate?

What exactly are the detailed failings you’d critique? And what evidence would you cite

I’d like a member led board as much as anyone, but that’s not the be all and end all of governance or its efficacy

Why?

Critique away

Is there an absence of oversight quite possibly
Are unsuited trustees without competence appointed? Unsure
Are the delegations of authority inappropriate or unclear? No
Does the board fail to hold the executive to account? Of course, goes without saying.
Separation of duties properly outlined? Does it really need to be ffs
The governance document out of date? Silly
committee terms of reference not reviewed or appropriate? They should always be reviewed

What exactly are the detailed failings you’d critique? And what evidence would you cite - redundant, evidence doesn't need to be required, there is a problem, that is seen on and off fields. Furthermore a solution won't have evidence yet either, it's untried.

I’d like a member led board as much as anyone, but that’s not the be all and end all of governance or its efficacy
You've literally described the problem and answered with the solution in your own post. Just an FYI .

Ok. Champ. Cool story

Goodbye
Ah the dreaded champ. You know what I would've liked, I would've liked if you had wrote a response, properly, outlining why I'm wrong and you were right. We could've agreed to disagree and that would've sufficed. Nevertheless, you've proved the opposite.

After much thinking - I'll probably still get it wrong - I feel it comes down to philosophy

Digging deep that philosophy HAS to come from one person

With our turnover in coaches and Chair to CEO and Football Manager there has been one constant. Bred under Malcolm but matured under Ayres and Neil - where Neil showed that seniority and continuity are king.

Which seems to be our current philosophy. Have a core group and let them blend together , getting games experience etc

When you invite yet to be hired coaches over to your place to discuss chops and game philosophies and suddenly we have 3 new senior coaches. Its not by mistake 2 of them fell rigidly under this philosophy.

Can you guess? I loved this person as a player but as an administrator/footy guy he is - as someone said - a cancer slowly eroding the soul of this club we all love. And lets be clear, I truly believe Roo loves the club as much as we do and he thinks he is doing the right thing - but ironically he is TOO close inside the 4 walls to see the issues he has created

That Richmond review tore at me. Its a lot of things most of us have posted over the years

Get football people in
Dont be the standard people walk by
Have a clear focus on development and fitness
Have clear messaging from ALL coaches
Have small leadership groups. 3 Richmoind had.3 . Meanwhile we have half the current senior side as ''leaders'
Anyone who says we needed them because of our developing list is FOS
