Traded James Aish [traded to Collingwood for #26 and St Kilda's 2016 second round pick]

Because they want Carlisle;)

If Aish and Carlisle both want to get to Carlton , i see Brisbane getting our second rounder (21) and Carlisle via the PSD .
Put simply ,
Aish is guaranteed to be available to play in round one next year .
Carlisle is not . (WADA)
So it's just straight forward to me who would yield the draft pick and who would go the PSD route .

I don't see us accepting pick 21 for Aish.

I'm perplexed as to why your club drafted him in the first place. There was plenty of talk he never wanted to go to Brisbane and would walk after his first 2 years.

Looking at this year's form, he clearly doesn't amount to a first round pick unfortunately for Brisbane.

The best you could hope for is a club playing finals to think he will come on in his 3rd year and help them to premiership glory. Doubtful and doubtful he is wanting to go there. In this case you would get a pick 12-18.

I'd be surprised if carlton thought he was worth more than pick 21.

What may happen is if we get a pick between 10-15 for Henderson or Yarran, we may pass that onto Brisbane in exchange for Aish and your 2nd pick (20). With us rebuilding, can't see it any better than that for Brisbane if he solely chooses carlton.

Of course this is on the proviso that Aish nominates Carlton .
Our first pick (1,2,or 3) would be out of the question .
So that leaves our second rounder (21) for the out of contract Aish .
If not our second rounder , how else do you see it if he nominates Carlton and is out of contract ?

I would be stunned if Lions took Carlton's second round pick in a shallow draft. Think you will need to do better than that. While his form has been average this year, you only have to go back a year to see what he can produce when he finished top 4 in the Rising Star award.

Brisbane quite rightly will take a very strong stance. Enough is enough.

And let's not get to ahead of ourselves about him playing for Carlton or any Melbourne side. He is Adelaide Royalty and close to Ricciutto. Adelaide would still be faves for me especially if Dangerfield leaves. Not to mention the kid has the slimiest manager out there in Pickering pulling the strings and telling a million lies.

Why would Aish want to go to the cess pit that Carlton is currently and will be for a number of years. No quick fix at Carlton. The Blues second pick will be pushed out by some compo picks and the Suns activated first round pick. I have the Blues finishing with pick 3, then their next pick will be pick 23/24 depending on what happens. That won't get Aish but Ports or Crows first rounder would. Brisbane, after their 2013 exodus, have declared they won't accept unders or be dictated to by early go homers, Matthews has made it quite clear that they will burn a player if they need to just to set an example.

Don't know why BF traders think they can get good players via the PSD, it rarely happens. Tippett was the last one and that only happened because no one other than Sydney could afford the money he stipulated. To find the cap space Sydney delisted/traded cheaply a host of players like Spangher and thereby have ended up with absolutely no depth in their squad.

Aish will not be claimed by Carlton in the PSD.

Aish doesn't have the slimiest manager, he has the best manager, one who gets players to where they want to be, and that is not to basket case sides. One of the two Adelaide clubs or a Melbourne contender.

He wasn't even meant to be available at Brisbane's pick. He was generally regarded as a top three talent and probably only slid because of the homesickness angle. At some point you have to bet on talent - last time this exact scenario happened Brisbane picked up Daniel Rich who doesn't look like heading home and has been pretty solid since his debut. We'd have probably been looking at a Salem or Freeman which would have been...meh, even if they hung around.

Carlton supporters are a bit overly confident at this stage I think.
Theres no real link to them. They are not a premiership contender, he never supported them as a kid, and has no friends of any note there.
Why do they think he will go there?

Carlton are gonna have a war chest come year's end, even more so if Henderson pisses off to the Cats (as he should). I assume moneybags Pickering is just using Carlton as a scapegoat to up the $$$ on Aish's future contract with the Crows.

In saying that, it won't be quite Tom Boyd-esque but Carlton will definitely table a massive offer to him. Just gotta wait and see.

I don't recall Rich having any 'go home factor' at the time of the draft. Happy to be corrected. I recall Aisho having a real 'go home factor' about him and may have formed part of our decision making when opting against him at pick 6.

Obviously, I could have egg on my face, if Aisho heads to Melbourne next year. My gut feel all along has been he'll go back to Adelaide and the whole "wants to go Melbourne" thing is just something his manager is using to bump up his salary. Maybe because only one SA club is interested in him.

The go home factor is BS.
Aish is very keen to play in Melbourne and would prefer that to coming home. My understanding is the Pies are still interested in him and he would be very happy to land there.
Dangerfield is the first dominoe for me, his decision will have multiple ramifications across the board, if he stays at Adelaide for instance they would be busting at the seams and wouldnt have anywhere near enough in the tank to lure Aish

Aish will be a very very good player at any club, reminds me alot of Bryce Gibbs. A pick anywere from pick 8 - 16 i reckon. would be happy for Port to give up there first round pick which will be around pick 10

classic, hows the engagement to the sister going?

Carlton supporters are deluded that they are a prestigious club still!
After this years debacle you won't get a Friday night game for the next three years and your list is rubbish. Essendon's list is better which is worrisome for you since we have lost players and had draft restrictions. Reckon Carlisle will end up at north or bulldogs.

Not sure who mentioned we are a prestigious club? We are looking to rebuild. Happy if we get Carlisle, if not so bed it. Essendon I wouldn't say are doing any better than us after today's performance. Both clubs are pretty shit let's face it

We put out a 1mil+ offer to Cameron earlier in the season, so therefore, we are not even close to bursting at the seams.

Since then havnt you re-signed a stack of players including Sloane?
Would imagine Sloane got a big increase and if Dangerfield stays he would probably go up to $800k, wouldnt think that leaves a lot of room. Obviously if Dangerfield goes you will have a fair bit in the tank

Hahaha Brisbane player hard ball with Aish then they adequately compensate Essendon, Yarran straight swap and then get Aish via the PSD. Carlton and Essendon may not like each other but the Blues are in no positon to cut of there nose in spite of their face. If the equation is Yarran for Carlisle and Aish Blues will play there cards accordingly. LMFAO.

Don't worry though, you might get a second rounder but play hardball if you like. LMFAO!!!
