For some reason I feel uneasy on losing aish
Maybe because still so young

His body was just filling out

Dissapointing but not end of world

I think he will do more than beams in next few years

Beams seems cooked

He's not cooked, he was carrying injury when he played and still earnt his keep. I'm very keen on what he can bring if he gets a good run at it he is a proven star.

Thanks James for the effort you put in while at our club, always welcome back anytime, left with class, hoping you have a long career at freo.

Good luck James Aish, the depreciation on you in only 4 years from two picks in the twenties to something around thirty makes you look like an Alfa Romeo, so I will call you Alfa now and expect you to have a random electrical fault and come to a complete halt on the Tonkin Freeway and need to be towed to Joondalup for repairs where they find you riddled with rust.

I feel a bit flat knowing that he’s gone. It’s like trading in a relatively new car for not much.
Football is a business more than ever now, and players are just commodities.
Good luck in the future Aishy, but not too much luck against Collingwood.

Very True about that. Footy is about $$$$$$$ now more that Loyalty

You pegged Aish as a likeable bloke from the start, and you were right with that, and you should continue to hope for the best for him.

I reckon he has another gear and a lot to offer. He certainly has heart.

It just hurt to see him in another Club though I probably get use to it

I think it's good that you still get particularly attached to some players, because that's always been part of what the game is about, but you will get used to it at some stage and that's a good thing too.

This may be the alcohol talking but I would have rather kept Aish than Treloar. If Aish was given the same opportunity I think he would have been a better value $/output proposition. And we would have kept two top 10 picks. Hindsight.

No issue with trading out Aish. He's a decent player in a position we have well covered. For the same reason I'd hae liked to trade out Scharenberg and Wills or Phillips subect to a decent price. Problem is when you have to do the trade you don't have much bargaining power - so we get under market value. Asih and 35 for a late teen-20ish pick would have been ideal, particularly if that could have been moved with Phillips/Scharenberg/Wills plus or minus late picks for an 8-12 pick.

Salary cap pressure deniers are kidding themselves if they don;t think that was a prime mover in the transaction.

I agree JB1975 I will get use to Aish leaving and I dare say I find someone else to be a Fan of. Just be annoying IF he comes good at Freo that he could been doing that at Collingwood

A player I highly rate as a Kid not being Talked about much on here is Nathan Murphy who I reckon can a Beauty

You are Probably Right but I am big fan of his just makes it bit harder to Swallow the Club did not see what I saw in him

Yeah - i think we all see you are big fan of his Dave, and I think the club is much better off having fans like you.

But I don't see it as the club not valuing Aish - he just wanted rated high enough to garauntee him enough money that could hamper keeping Grundy/Moore/JDG. Also ignore the media talk of it being a salary dump - Ned Guys comments cleared that up, and we got a 2nd rounder for him. (Not what we paid 3 years ago, but better them losing him for nothing as a free agent if he wants more money than we can afford)

I'm quite a fan of Murphy as well. He's tough, got some footy smarts, nice kick. I wanted him to make more impact this year, but hopefully he can leave his injuries behind and give us something to cheer in 2020.

One gets 40 possies and can’t kick at an estimated $1,000 per possie, the other gets about 15 possies and does nothing creative at an estimated $1,000 per possie. Much of a muchness.

I think you are right in the first 6 words.

Not comparable, different talent levels.
Treloar is A grade talent.
Aish is nice medium talent.

If the 18 clubs each had to pick only one of Treloar or Aish, the scorecard comes back 18 - 0.
And Aish isn’t the 18.

Aish has been in the system with two clubs for a good few years. He’s never shown close to what Treloar brings to the table. And with all the opportunity in the world, he never will.
Just not on the same talent sphere.

That’s no slight to Aish, but Treloar is a different beast.
