Recruiting James Hird Academy (Father/Son and Next Generation)

I’d be very surprised if he got taken open draft now. 2 acl recos before 18 is nothing to discard. Look at Baldwin he was considered a top 10 talent and didn’t get taken and Davey is a way lower ranked prospect than him. I’d say it’ll be a rookie spot, depending on how his rehab goes.
Do smaller players tend to rehab knee injuries more effectively than big/tall players?

It's frustrating for Jayden because the best scenario is always for the kids to play and to play well.

But I'd say we already know more than enough to select him, the question was about the cost.

The injury simplifies the task as he'll now just slide. We're not going to not take a talented father son who is a twin of an even more talented father son where they're best mates with another we just recruited. There is a very strong motivation for the 3 of them who will push each other along.

He's going to be well worth the punt.

It is hard to argue that it is very unlikely that he would be picked up in the first 4 rounds of the ND but I would not rule out late ND or rookie given he will be ready to play before next season starts. Risk yes but that is what the late picks are for. Right now I would agree that rookie would be the earliest but someone could make an unlikely bid.
I’d be absolutely staggered if he got bid on by another club in the ND, unless it was the lions 😂

I tried to work it out but got to 7; care to elaborate on the 10 mate?
Josh Misiti
Luca Alessio
Matt Foley
Reuben Rode
Carlos Egan
Ayui Makieng
Shane Clough 2023
Amin Naim 2023
Angus Ryan 2023
Jordan Croft 2023
Mahmoud Taha 2023

One of those 2023 might be on the fringe to miss out on the 10.

So are the Davey twins as good as Shai Bolton?

That is what we need!

Anthony Munkara who has come down from up North has done well and kicked 4 goals in West Adelaide's (14.12.96) win over Norwood (11.7.73) in the opening round of the SANFL.
Who's he the son of?

Is this a good thing? If starts kicking bags against men we aren't getting him.

Shown enough as a forward, we need forwards - get him now!

sounds extremely promising.
And highly touted, much like Davey. Could be interesting come bid times.

Might be a year to look at trading the future 1st out if it's going to get impacted by a deficit

If he's a first round bid then we don't get him

It sounds like there is very little chance he isn't bid on in the first 40 picks.

If we want him, we will have to pick him.

Might be worth keeping an eye on Chris25 ‘s draft thread this year as one of the main men on BigFooty who watches S.A football.

He’ll get asked a mountain of times I guess about Anthony but worth keeping in mind that we’re likely to have two years of banked up talent waiting to explode as well so not out of the realms of possibility that he ‘slips’.

I mean, I don’t think he’s any better or worse than Mitch Owies (St.Kilda) who went at 35.

“Ryan is going through his growing pains, similar to what Josh was at that age.
