Because it was against the rules back then, medical sub.
The rule was being "used" weekly ...and being adjudicated weakly.
James Harmes said he was cramping up and said he’d come off for him. But was knocked back as he wasn’t injured. I guess they didn’t want to flaunt the rules in a winning grand final.
Honestly. If a player said he was off... I cant see any AFL official saying you must stay on... Gees one of the guys could go down and say he had done knee and came off ..
Its probably something we are nogt used to.... before the interchange their were probably plenty of reserves not used..
You’d think they’d have found a way to get him on. Just followed the rules I guess. Feel for JJ.

I actually reckon he'd be a very good pick up for North.
Sadly the end is in sight for Cunners, and Greenwood won't be that far behind him.
A good young defensive mid who will have had 5 years development in an elite system would definitely help our team and the system Clarko is trying to develop.
If we rotated him between a defensive mid role and defensive forward role, he'd easily make our best 22 all year long.

I think there’s a good chance he goes. He is very close to our best 22 but still in the fringes.
He should've been selected in the 22 last week instead of Harmes and it was vindicated with how shit Harmes was and is.
Would be a good fit, especially for no draft capital.

Doubt it. He wouldn't get such a long (stupid) deal to start with. He's no certainty to make a huge step up but if he's recruited as a reliable role player (defensive mid/wing), it'd be a good get as a FA.

Agree. Not sure he walks into that suns midfield. He played a really good game on the weekend in the VFL. But with Oliver back next week I can’t see him coming in other than sub. Hope he hangs around but he’ll have options.
Isn't what what you recruited Hewitt for?
IMO, Jordan can become a similar player to Hewitt if given the opportunity, but you don't need two in the one midfield.
