Richard Douglas wore a box for 6 weeks or so after a testicle injury last year. Not sure if it was as bad as Kelly's though. Good luck to him for his recovery

Incorrect. It is catalytic shock i believe it is called, and it can happen from anything that causes saver pain. Older people who have bad knees for example can die from catalytic shock while bumbing a knee or bad hip for example. It is cause when the pain response by the brain, (which rupturing a testicle is extremely painful) will pump high doses of chemicals into the body, to react against the pain... however this can cuase the body to go into shock if it is too much and a heart attack may result, or complete system shut down. SO your brain and body response to the pain actually kills you by over doing the chemical response.

It's pretty rare. Besides Hocking who was mentioned in the OP I can only recall Barry Mitchell as well (he was off for around 4-6 weeks from memory). What a horrible injury it would be, much sympathy to him!

I think Andrew Thompson from the Saints ruptured his testicle once, anyone remember?
You have to admire Jack Watts, he is so committed to his football he had his testicles removed, to avoid this type of injury.
