Squirrel grip?
Tom Lonergan? Wasn't the plums but didn't he have like 20% chance of living?I guess this displaces Dermott Brereton's snapped penis in 1992 to the second most bizarre injury in AFL folklore.
You're as bad as that other guy.Incorrect. It is catalytic shock i believe it is called, and it can happen from anything that causes saver pain. Older people who have bad knees for example can die from catalytic shock while bumbing a knee or bad hip for example. It is cause when the pain response by the brain, (which rupturing a testicle is extremely painful) will pump high doses of chemicals into the body, to react against the pain... however this can cuase the body to go into shock if it is too much and a heart attack may result, or complete system shut down. SO your brain and body response to the pain actually kills you by over doing the chemical response.
lingy mentioned last night Kelly had surgery.Earlier I'd read that if he needed surgery it could be 2 months out.Any idea how long he'll be out? I have him in my Fantasy Elite team and unless he's out for over 5 weeks I'm not dropping him to the waiver wire.
Geelong midfielder James Kelly last night underwent surgery on a ruptured testicle at the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne.
Kelly suffered the injury during the third quarter of the clash with Richmond at the MCG yesterday when hitting the ground after taking a mark.
Geelong Cats general manager of football, Steve Hocking, said the surgery was successful and Kelly will released from hospital soon....
Having only one functioning testicle doesn't effect fertility I believe.
Surprisingly serious injury. Painful as all hell and you can go into nervous system shock and die from it. In worse case scenarios you can stuggle to walk for months and even with removal can have ghost pain for the rest of your life. Unbelievable how much male bodies treasure those ugly hanging globes between our legs.
Couldnt find anything in relation to sports recovery but it is considered extremely dangerous. Good luck James.
Reminds me of a story of a player in country footy. His thigh bone kept would dislocate really easily but his teammates knew that if it did to just get it back in and he'd be fine. Gets tackled, goes down in pain. They figure it's popped out again so try to get it back in. Bloke just screams in pain. They figure it just really be out so really try to push it back in. Bloke eventually passes out so they get him taken to hospital.
Turns out one of his balls was in the socket where they were trying to get it back into. He's now down to one.
Heard it on the radio years ago so it's possible the bloke telling it pinched it.I thought it was a South American soccer player? Dislocated his hip, the club medicos put it back in the socket but in doing so, jammed one of his nuts in the joint. He was in agony and once they got him to hospital, they had to re-dislocate it.
iirc, it was in the 'worst sporting injuries' in Inside Sport about 15 or 20 years ago.
That dog campaigner milburn did it to SOS
Hitler had only one ball
Sieg Heil to our new Cat overlord
Richard Douglas wore a box for 6 weeks or so after a testicle injury last year. Not sure if it was as bad as Kelly's though. Good luck to him for his recovery
I've had my balls badly split open. This mucus shit was dripping everywhere and I was cumming blood for weeks after. My balls didn't fall out though they're attached to these veiny things but they were hanging out for a bit.
