It doesn’t help that most of the big names looking to move clubs (bar Smith) are contracted, but yeah you’d think the smaller deals would be sorted out at least. Like Peatling, Harry Sharp, even guys like Parker and Stringer (given the packages for both of them seem very straightforward)
North and Sydney are just haggling over pick 44 or 62 for Parker, wtf is the point? Kane made a good point this morning about list managers always wanting to have the appearance of winning a trade and therefore we get into this pointless haggling over meaningless picks, when in reality there is nothing wrong with a fair trade either and just getting the deal done.

Are clubs just trolling supporters at this point or have the AFL told them to hold off until Wednesday? No player trades since day one, even ones like this which don't appear to look that complicated.
The longer they drag it out, the more ads for Continental Tyres they can get people to tune in for.

Haven't we just discovered that picks that might seem meaningless end up having value. Whatever we could have gotten back from Melbourne, could have sweetened the Peatling offer. Even sitting on surplus picks v spots on draft night can yield a future pick. And if you're arguing that some picks are worthless/meaningless, then surely there's no reason that they don't end up in your hands being wasted on draft night.

Could be interesting if a surprise early bid comes in for Welsh (say late second/early third), and we've given our picks away for Peatling (F2/F3).

You'd think it's pretty straightforward to pick up enough late picks to cover though this year.

With clubs like Brisbane, GC and Essendon hoarding 2nd and 3rd rounders to match bids, 64 will come in, probably to 50-something, and 84 will also come in.

If pick 64 ends up at say, 52, we're covered for any bids 40 and after. (bid at 39 a 3 point deficit). If it ends up at 53, we're covered for 41 and after, and so on.

Was only Ralph but he was talking like it was F3 for Peatling, that sounds like horseshit

Latest Inside Trading on AFL site says GWS now asking for F2 only. I think we shake hands and it gets done tomorrow.
