Trying to look at this in a positive light, hopefully they have learnt some lessons after recruiting Brett Turner. And we need list spots for recruits that are locked in and heading across at the end of the year.

What lessons? None of the lessons from Turner were a reason not to take picks in this msd.
I’d say the lessons from Turner should have been:
1. Pick promising players, especially ones with plenty of upside
2. Most picks turn out to be failures, that is not a reason not to make a pick
3. Don’t over promise. If you only can commit to six months make sure you say so clearly.
4. Don’t be squeamish about cutting players who you think won’t make it.
We could have taken 3 players, had a good look at them over 6 months, and still cut them to make space at the end of the year.
We gave up two very very cheap tickets in a lottery. It’s not a catastrophe, but still the wrong decision.

If history repeats, then 1 or 2 players taken this MSD will turn out okay, 50/50 one of them even does better than a c grade role player. Most of the rest will chew up a list spot and even some games until their clubs eventually realise they aren't good enough and that's why everyone has already passed on them before.
MSD is no place to build a list, its just sifting through trash looking for diamonds that probably aren't there.
