At this stage would miss games against GC , Blues and GWS .
Huge out for us in winneable games.

Legit chance to win all 3 with him.

Damn near impossible without him.

Such an important player.

If we'd won against GWS and Adelaide like we should have, this next set of games could have been our finals chances on the line. And we wouldn't have our captain and most important player there for it because of a tackle he won a free kick for.

The reasoning is just as moronic.

Tribunal's reasons for decision:

Sicily clung on and rotated McCluggage across his body. Tyler Brockman leapt across the back of the rotating McCluggage and made contact with him.

Sicily kept clinging onto McCluggage and kept rotating him. We do not accept Brockman’s involvement caused an otherwise safe tackle to be dangerous.

Sicily continuing to rotate McCluggage, pulling him down on his left arm and pinning his left arm caused this tackle to be dangerous.

He could’ve released the left arm. Had he done so, McCluggage would not have been rotated across his body into the ground with such force.

Accordingly, we find this was a dangerous tackle.

We do not accept that there are exceptional and compelling circumstances here. Two matters were raised.

As to the first, it may be that Brockman’s involvement changed the force of the impact, but we can't be sufficiently satisfied as to the extent. If Brockman wasn't there, McCluggage would’ve still been rotated into the ground with force.

As to the second, we accept without hesitation Sicily was remorseful and immediately quite shaken by the injury to McCluggage he did not intend.

This does not constitute exceptional and compelling circumstances.

We impose a sanction of three weeks’ suspension.

Who is that 3rd member of the panel?
Edit: Talia Radan. With all due respect, Talia would never have been part of an incident with the velocity and ferociousness of this one - how can you assess the actions of someone in a situation you’ve never been in yourself?

?? Thought it was the least vicous of the 3 before the tribunal tonight. The Jack Graham one was worse and didn’t even get referred. **** knows what’s happening to our game at the moment

Oh yeah not like we got an expert or anything to suggest Brocky did cause Sicily to lose control.

Mention it somewhere, it will eventually become a non contact sport

Over the years my interest in AFL has taken a dive, don’t listen to radio any more, barely watch the footy shows, only watch if I know that someone from Hawthorn is on and only watch the Hawthorn games now
Pretty much me these days as well. Dont know what’s worse listening to so called “experts” talking crap or getting hammered with gambling ads left right and centre

The game has really degenerated in the last three years

I could have understood 1 week given the outcome. But what exactly is Sicily meant to do here?

He’s lunging in a desperate tackle.
He pulls the player to him.
McCluggage has control of both his arms the whole time.
Brockman comes flying in over the top.
It's all one motion.
We had the testimony of a biomechanical lecturer that Sicily lost control of the tackle due to outside intervention.

And he’s been banned for the same amount of time as players that go past the ball to KO their opponents. Absolutely farcical and I hope we appeal.
It’s due to the rubbish decision of the AFL judging the outcome not the action. If there was some sort of middle ground from where the outcome was severe but the action was hardly bad that a middle ground occurred it would be a lot fairer.

Splitting these results down the middle works best.

Sucks we now lose Sic for the next 3 games.

Make all those changes in 1.04 seconds. I'd love to see the tribunal explain how Sic can achieve that in that space of time.

Absolutely corrupt bullshit.

On SM-S901E using BigFooty.com mobile app

So all those ****ing words about sic not letting go off his arm pinning his arm in just over 1sec of a lunging tackle. ****ing ridiculous and outrageous. This was rigged from the beginning no matter the evidence. They had this ready to go no matter what. Honestly a waste of everyones ****ing time. I hope in a couple of years sicily ix holding that ****ing cup to stick right up them. Then ofcourse the next year
