Wow, I was almost impressed that a magpie supporter pulled out a latin word.

Then I realised that was supposed to be Verbatim

What has a floppy disc manufacturer got to do with Cloke slagging off his coach? :D

probably not. but we would have found it easier to kick goals, and get a spare man in defence.

theres so many things he could have done.

We saw the type of things he could do last week. Won the "Tool of the Week" award I believe.

Alot of gay things in this thread. First i see an Essendon support with a probelm inwhich disables him to press the CAPS LOCKS button. Then some fool saying Rocca cost us today when infact Collingwood does not relie on one person. Brisbane was far better. And Jason Cloke will be at Collingwood next year. People say crazy things when they lose the Grand Final.

Not sure if Clokey bagged Malthouse, but Malthouse certainly bagged Cloke. Malthouse said on 3aw,

"today was Cloke's first grand final and he played better in last years grand final"

Offending the mullet may push that son to Richmond

Yeah Travis Cloke at 201cm, he is the pick of the bunch.

But apparently he thinks Mathews is the better coach.

Cloke should be ashamed of himself. If you think you have been played out of position you accept that the coach was doing what he thought was best for the team. Maybe tell the coach PRIVATELY your not comfortable there but to bag him to the media is disgraceful.

Seems to me someone on these boards has a sane mind....:)

He should be. He stuffed any chance they had. At any other club he'd be given his matching orders, but not collingwood who seem to accept anything.

True like Lockett on Peter Caven..........good point Grayham

If he said that time to pack your bags areshole. This is the danger of having 3 players from one family, they get too big for their boots.

Joffa, no he is a good coach, a coach cannot make players go in for the ball. He made some mistakes but we have to give 100% to win, we do not have the best players, today to many were soft.

All I see is another Tom Hafey era staring me in the face.

Huh

I am refering to Hafey at the Pies, 4 GF's (77 twice, 79, 80 and 81) for no cigar. I can see it again, good coach, to the most talented list and getting found out by better team(s) in the GF.

Wonder how long it will take for us to go nuts this time.

I didn't hear the quote that's been attributed to Cloke (where he supposedly says we would have won if Matthews coached us).

It was unusual for Malthouse to name his poor players:

from AFL.com: (http://collingwoodfc.com.au/default.asp?pg=news&spg=display&articleid=122158)

he was disappointed with the performance of Jason Cloke, who he suggested ‘probably played better’ last year, even though he was suspended and missed the 2002 grand final.

He also said Brodie Holland and Ryan Lonie did not perform the roles they had been given.

“Both of those boys performed very poorly. I don’t know whether they were mesmerised at that stage, but they certainly weren’t proactive,” Malthouse said.

Malthouse declined to comment on whether any Collingwood players’ careers could be under threat.

With the strong tip being Nick Stevens and/or Nathan Brown to Collingwood - maybe Mick is hinting that Cloke will be traded. I might be reading way too much in to this - as it's easy to say stupid things 10mins after losing a grand final.

But Collingwood are going to make changes to their list, and will be an even better team next year. They are after another "big name" recruit. There is a small window in which your players peak and a premiership is a chance. That time is NOW for Collingwood - so recruiting ready-made players makes sense.

Scary thought - Rocca/Tarrant/Nathan Brown in the forward line, Buckley, Woewodin, Nick Stevens, Licuria, Burns as the midfield.

The coach has every right to say those comments about his players when asked the questions by the medi especially when they are true. Jason Cloke has no right at all to bag his coach like that. I am a great fan of his as he is a great backman but he has a lot of growing up to do, like his dad.
