port will need to give up a best 22 or north wont accept it. this can either be done on top or through WC for example with georgiadis.

bonner wont cut it. its like us throwing up mchenry

They probably need to but I don't think they have that player. This is doing it in reverse but I'd be getting the Rioi and Ratugolea deals done.

They have two firsts on the table for JHF which is not enough but also a reasnoble starting point.

I'd offload Bonner for whatever I could get and maybe even Hayes, try to combine those picks with a future third and hope that could get them up the order.

I think North want the deal done and are probably going to have to settle for a bit less on the last day. It's a big gamble though.

I think they will get done over if all three trades go late. Better to get two done and refocus everyone.

this smells like it will still go through with georgiadis going to WC the most likely

pretty dumb by pear cos midfield is stronger than their key position stocks
Is Georgiades ever going to be a key position player though?

The deal will get done for not much more than Pick 8 + 2023 1st. It's all posturing. North aren't having JHF on their list if he's checked out.
Posturing, and/or AFL stage managed for it to go right to the end of Trade Period.

That will be the Trade. With some late pick swaps.

But won't be "done" till Wednesday arvo.

I actually feel a touch sorry for Jason. He's going from being the #1 pick, to the savior at a dyeing club, to one of the most over publicized 1st year players (not for all the right reasons). And now will likely command one of the steepest prices in AFL trade history to a club who'se coach already almost got fired last year.... Twice!

I mean that kid's entire career to date has been a pressure cooker of epic proportions. And I don't see that changing anytime soon!

By comparison, Izak leaving the cushiest gig in the AFL, living on the sunny Goldcoast, and then coming back to his hometown to play for his childhood club for great money in a low expectation team is a walk in the fricken park!

Port need to revise their strategy other than dealing with the second worst side. Go further up the table and may get in on GWS hand might get them better results.

Nah AFL want horne to stay put it makes the draft look stupid
Same outcome though. Speculation on JHF until as close as the Trade deadline next Wednesday.

Trade Period is 95% a media event. With little actual movement.

Keeps the AFL in the news cycle, especially with such a trade.

The longer the "negotiations " continue the longer people hang on every word of the media "experts".

It is pretty funny how so many people hang on every word of this theatre. The reality is the terms of the trade are most likely sorted.

Thank god..It seems that all the names of the c list players port are dropping to the media don't want to go or WCE / North don't want.

Oh it’s funny because none are gonna bite. Just none.

Is truth. Couple days max all this bartering gets nutted out.

There's some talk around that Port have spoken to Duursma about his options.

Looks like the penny might be starting to drop that spuds like Riley Bonner are not going to cut it with North
